They looked at each other. Teague and Amber were taken care of. Leah and Rachel had been called back to where ever. Becca was on edge. It had been too easy. Almost. There was something else they hadn't counted for. Something Amber had kept secret. Becca handed Devin over to Fang and approached the dark ángel of hell.
“What else is there?”
Amber only smiled and Becca crouched down so they were eye level. Her eyes roamed Amber's face but there was no clue, no hint, as to what came next. The others started to wake up from Terror's spell when the entire place shook. The was a loud boom, almost like a roar, and then the ceiling started to cave in. Becca quickly put up a protective shield, the debris falling on top.
“We're underground!” Erin exclaimed.
“Just....hold on...”
Tara put up a shield under Becca's. The warrior released hers for a second, regaining her concentration, before putting it back up. No one spoke until the shaking stopped.
“Becca, release your shield,” Erin whispered. “I've got this.”
Becca looked at her before giving in. The large rocks started falling and Erin sped over to each one, grabbing it with her added strength and stopping them from hurting someone. Erin came to a stop, smiling and not even sweating.
“Piece of cake.”
Becca gave a weak smile before going down on shaky knees. At Devin's request, Fang set the ángel (sorry his angel) down beside her.
“How's your side?” Becca asked as Fang sat beside Devin.
“Almost sealed up. Hurts a lot.”
“Not as much as he is.”
Devin smiled and Becca gave a weak smile. Terror was taking care of Cat, and Tara and Erin where talking (arguing más than likely) with Sam. Amber and Teague had been bound with dark magic and placed where everyone could see them.
“One last task, Becca.”
“Yep.”
“Sooner it's done, sooner we go home.”
“You have enough power?”
“No. But Fang will gladly take me back to the mountain.”
“Okay then.”
Becca took both of Devin's hands and looked into her clear blue eyes. Devin gave a small nod. Becca closed her eyes and started to speak in Attalin's natural tongue. Devin joined in, speaking in the tongue of angels. They held on tightly to each others hands; what they were doing was dangerous.
“What are they doing?” Sam asked.
“Surrendering to their powers,” Tara answered.
“Isn't that dangerous?”
“Yes.”
When she didn't explain, Sam almost shouted at them.
“And why are they doing that?!”
“It's the only way everyone else will forget.”
