Ashleigh was a little three año old, and I could see she'd be really pretty when she was older.
I wasn't sure how how, but becoming a mother just let me see clearly. About so many things. What was important and what wasn't worth it.

I'd picked her up from the daycare and took her to the playground, where we were supposed to meet Jamie, the little girl who was Ashleigh's best friend, and her mother, Jenna. Jenna was a single mother, like myself, but two years older. We'd become best friends as our children had.
It was Friday, and Jamie and Ashleigh were having a sleepover. They'd be camping out in my living room.

Not a día goes por that I don't think of Shaun. If he did what I'd asked him to.
Ashleigh and Jamie had found one another, and were dragging Jenna over to where I was standing. I bent down and hugged my little girl as she ran into my arms. She giggled and asked if she and Jamie could play here before we went home. I smiled at her, and told her it was fine.
"Well, I should probably get going. Thanks again for taking Jamie," Jenna said, and turned for her car. But I didn't hear a word she said.
I felt someone staring at me.

inch por inch
bringing me closer
to my doom
mariposas of
anticipation
flutter nervously
in my stomach
knuckles whiten
jaws clench
what have I
gotten myself into
the suspense
is killing me
I'm going to hate it
I'm going to amor it
I might lose my lunch
but I don't care
heaven help me
here it comes...
...
I hold my breath...
...
and then
I scream
my stomach
drops
my breath
is stolen
my heart
is pounding
adrenaline
courses
through
my veins
amid screams
of sweet terror
I fling up
my hands
and ride on
the wings
of Thrill!
I remember the día I fell in love.
Not just simple love.
No, this was head over heels, I'd die for tu love.
I remember where I fell in love.
A small middle school in a small town.
A place tu could easily miss.
I remember the my matchmaker.
A short women, but with más fuego then tu could ever imagine.
más passion for what she does then I had ever seen.
I remember my girlfriends who were with me.
My athletic, sassy, fun-loving chicks.
My flirting consultants.
I remember him.
Good God, he was beautiful.
Yes, I remember the día I fell in love.
True Love.
Head over heels love.
