“Pump! Pump!” went my pounding corazón as I trembled across the deserted hallway of school. As I looked around in this hall of nothingness, I realized that I was the fist person here. However, I had the feeling that I was being watched, and followed. It was not a good feeling
I didn’t mind getting to school early because I always liked watching the other kids scatter out on the playground one por one, and watching them registrarse different games. I was too afraid to play the games that the other boys played. Football and their aggressive chasing games just seemed dangerous, and I couldn’t stand the thought of getting hurt and taking a risk.
“Craackk!” I quickly jumped up, and pounded my feet on the rough cement ground. My head spun back like throwing a Frisbee in reverse. I had stepped on a wooden, arrowhead necklace. I looked back, too frightened and too shy to see if I was being watched. There, standing right behind me, was an alien like figure. It had four bulging eyes and slimy green skin that drooped into a long cloak. It oddly had an old Stanford baseball gorra, cap on its head. It opened its snake looking mouth, and spoke to me.
“ You! tu stepped on my necklace. For that, tu must take me to your leader!” It explained in a high pitched and robotic tone.
“ U-um b-bbut, tu want Mrs. Simon?” I asked
“Yes! Agree, o I will curse tu with nightmares!”
“ tu cc-can’t t-take Mrs. S-simon,”
“ Well than! I will curse tu with nightmares!” I stared at the alien, and the alien stared at me with its four silvery eyes, breaking the laws of hypnosis. I tried to speak, but these words were clogging up my throat; Who are you, how do tu control my dreams, Why do tu want Mrs. Simon, and how the heck did tu get that stanford baseball cap?
After that long school day, I was nervous for bed. I shook while eating cena even though we had quesadillas, my favorite. I trembled while brushing my teeth. When I got in my bed, it took 1,200 sheep, and 200 pages of that encyclopedia I used as a stepping stool, to finally fall asleep. I envisioned a peculiar and scary dream; I was walking down that same hallway, and I saw that same creature. In the background there was scary, and horribly creaky violin music. It seemed as if I was hearing a 4 año olds first violin recital.
In my dream, I told the creature, “ I need tu to make it stop! Your nightmare is killing me!” but the creature just gave me that devil like glare. It opened its mouth and showed its sharp teeth. I ran away into a hall where there were a few people from my class. I felt relived, but they just looked at me pointlessly. I was as bewildered as when Alice fell down a hole, and realized she was going to be late for something she didn’t even know about. How could they just sit here and do nothing. I was being chased por an alien! Then all of a sudden a thought ran to me, and knocked me out with a club; The kids didn’t see me. The alien grabbed me and cupped its slimy hands over my neck, but before I could experience death, I woke up with my corazón pounding repetitively. I thought in my head; I can’t do in real life what I did in that horrible dream. That couldn’t happen. I didn’t meet a real alien, o did I. My head was a spiral of preguntas and thoughts.
The siguiente morning, I shook and trembled down that hallway like a shivering hamster. I heard that same violin música in my head.
“ Hello again,” dicho the high-pitched voice behind me. “ Did tu have a good night sleep? Haa Haa Haa!” I didn’t say anything. “ You’re to shy to talk to me? Pretend I’m one of you’re friends tu talk to.”
Then it all hit me in the face like a baseball bat knocking me flat on the ground; I never talk to my friends so I’d never talk to an alien, but most important I’d never make a friend. I ran away. At lunch, I sat at an actual mesa, tabla with a whole crowd of kids. I was nervous to say anything. What if they laughed at me? I remembered what the alien said, “Pretend I’m one of you’re friends tu talk to.” That’s what I needed; a friend. I finally decided I needed to face my fear. Instead of fear facing me, and controlling everything I do.
Suddenly someone mentioned something about Survivor. Survivor was my favorito! show, so I was sure to have a response. My words were boomerangs full of courage. They flue up to my mouth and then curved back to my vocal chords. Finally, those boomerangs lost their touch and curl, and flue straight out of my mouth and into a few sentences.
“ Oh yeah! Did tu see the part were J.T lost the immunity idol?” I asked
“ That was so dumb. I can’t believe he did that. There’s one tonight,” dicho the kid sitting across from me.
“ Oh, cool! I’ll see tu tomorrow, and we can talk about it,” I said.
“ That sounds like a plan,” and after that, I knew that was just a start to a new friendship.
I knew I just made a friend, but I still hadn’t solved my bad dreams problem. I knew I needed the courage to confront that alien. That night I didn’t shake through everything I did. Instead, I was determined to talk to that alien, and not let my nightmare get into my head. I couldn’t let fear control me. Finally, I fell asleep after 997 sheep, and 40 más pages of that encyclopedia. I saw another dream where I stood up to the alien, and it almost ate me. However, I didn’t let some nightmare stop me do what I was determined to do. The siguiente morning, I thought out exactly what I was going to say to the alien. I was finally in that hallway.
“ Hello again! Do tu like my hat? Muy-ha-ha-ha?” dicho the devious alien.
“ I do not like your hat. Alien, I think it’s about time tu listen to me! I bel-!”
“ I was wrong!” Interrupted the alien. “ tu are the leader. tu were worthy enough to confront a frightening alien and overcome your fear. I worship your courage. No nightmares will come to you. My village has something for you.” The alien took out the collar I had stepped on. “Keep this so that you’ll remember me, and the time tu overcame your fear,” calmly dicho the alien.
“Thank you.” I replied. The alien and I smiled at each other, and walked away.
I will always worship the time I met this alien, and overcame my fear.
