First came the intense sadness, then came the anger. I wanted to scream at my parents, and my siblings. How hard is it to understand I just want to be myself? Is that so much to ask? I curled up in a ball on my bed, and cried. I covered my eyes with my fists, and screamed through my clenched teeth. That old saying "sticks and stones may break my bones, but words'll never hurt me," ran through my head. What a stupid saying. I'd gladly take being impaled with sticks and stones, than have heard what my parents just dicho to me.
I cried myself to sleep, and slept the rest of the day. I was woken por a knock on the door. I sat myself up in my bed, fearful. My eyes were sore, and I could barely keep my eyes open. The door opened up, and Asteria carefully walked in, holding a plate of food.
"I brought tu your dinner..." she dicho softly. I wiped my eyes with my sleeve, and laid back down.
"I'm not hungry," I whispered.
"But--"
"I dicho no!"I shouted. Asteria trembled, but stood still. I regretted yelling at her instantly, but I couldn't find the words to apologize. "They hate me," I whimpered. Asteria set the plate on my desk, and crossed the room to sit on the edge of my bed.
"They don't hate you, Cosette."
"Yes they do. They told me." I guess she didn't know that, because she was speechless. Then she leaned over and hugged me. más tears filled my eyes, and I hugged her back tightly.
"Asteria!" Father called from downstairs. "Get down here before your cena gets cold!" She sighed and let go.
"We amor you, Cosette," she whispered before leaving. My room began to smell like roast beef, and my stomach growled. I ignored it and laid back down.

The siguiente morning when I woke up, the plate was gone. Either my parents, o one of the servants had gotten rid of it. I looked through squinted eyes, at the light shining in through my window. I rubbed my eyes and yawned. My stomach growled loudly, and I shoved my fist into my diaphragm to shut it up.
There was a knock on the door, and Franklin let himself in. He smiled sadly at me, and gestured to the door.
"Just because you're grounded, doesn't mean tu have to starve," he said. I sniffed, got up, and hugged him. He patted my back. "They didn't mean it, tu know."
"I'm not so sure you're right," I sighed. I went downstairs, and the house was almost silent. Everyone must be at school and work. I poured cereal into a bowl, and Franklin poured the leche on top. I got my spoon and began eating.
"I was ordered to keep tu confined in your room," Franklin sighed. "But for tu I can let it slip, as long tu don't." I nodded.
"Thank you, Franklin."
I got dressed after I ate, and then helped Franklin clean the house. Then we watched cine all day. Soon we lost track of time, and we heard the garaje door open. Franklin and I gaped at each other, and we scrambled to turn off the TV.
"Go!" Franklin whispered. I made a dash for the stairs, but had to stop when the door opened behind me. Father wouldn't be able to see me, but I'm sure he'd be able to hear me if I ran up the stairs. I heard him ask Franklin what he'd been up to all day, and Franklin responded casually about all that he cleaned today. I slowly started to tip toe up the stairs, my corazón beat pounding in my ears.
"Was Cosette in her room all day?" Father asked.
"Yes sir. If tu don't mind, I brought her breakfast and lunch at the appropriate times," Franklin responded smoothly. I was up the stairs, and now I just had to get down the hallway to my room. Then the floor creaked. Obnoxiously loud. Father stopped mid-sentence, and the house got quiet. I heard him walk over to the stairs, and he looked up at me from the first floor.
"Cosette? What are tu doing?" he asked. I peered over the balcony, and looked down on him. Rage boiled inside me. He was such a jerk.
"I went to the bathroom," I answered. He studied me for a while, then shrugged.
"Go back to your room," he ordered, then disappeared. I grumbled to myself, and closed my door behind me.

The siguiente día was much like yesterday, except Franklin had today off. So I was alone, well except for the man that served in his place, but I don't really like him. He's very big and muscular. He scares me.
Today, however, Mother decided to come inicial for lunch. I was watching Final Destination, and I didn't hear the garaje door opening.
"Cosette!" she shouted. I clamped my hand over my mouth to keep from screaming in pure horror. This was worse than any horror film I'd seen combined. "What are tu doing?!" she shrieked. "You're supposed to be in your room!" I ran past her, up the stairs and into my room. I slammed the door shut and locked it. She screamed at me through the door, with many profanities. I cried, afraid to do anything. Soon enough though, her lunch break was over and she had to return to work. "You stay in there o you'll be grounded for the rest of your fucking life!" She swore a little bit more, and then left. I was frozen there on the floor, and cried.
I don't want to be here anymore, I decided. I can't be here.
But where else would I go? I don't have any friends whose house I could hide out at. There aren't any abandoned houses nearby that I know of. Maybe there's a relative I could go to. I grabbed our phone book, and looked for a family member that Father and Mother would never suspect I'd go to in desperate times.
Uncle Greg? No, Mother calls him a lot.
Aunt Lucy? No, she visits often. I looked through nearly the entire phone book, looking for people that I knew I was related to. Then I stumbled upon a name I recognized, but didn't at the same time.
Mary Hayner.
I bit my lip. I'd never heard that name before in my life. Whoever it was, I guessed, was not close to the family at all. That's who I'd run away to. I felt kind of bad, I'd be dropping in on this Mary person unexpectedly, but I needed to get out of here badly.
I went to my room and packed all my things. My clothes, toiletries, music, blanket, pillow, and anything else I'd need. I tried to only pack the necessities, like clothes and music, but if I wasn't planning on coming back, I wished I could take my whole room with me.
Soon enough I was packed, and now I just had one problem.
How would I get there?
I guess I could walk for a while, until I get closer to the city. Then I could catch a bus. I checked Mary's address. Her house was about one hundred miles. I could walk five miles, to the city, and then take the bus the rest of the way. That's be very expensive. I grabbed my jar, where I keep my allowance, and took all of it. I'd been saving for a while, and I had a little over five hundred dollars. Hopefully this would cover it.
I left the house, without leaving so much as a note. If they hated me as much as they dicho they did, they wouldn't worry when they came inicial to an empty house. I dragged my suitcase behind me, and walked in the direction of the city.
***
I didn't get there till late afternoon. My stomach was growling, but I didn't want to waste money on food. I'd wait until I got to Mary's. I got on the bus that would end up near Mary's, and took a seat. There was a few other people on the bus: a man who seemed desperate for a cigarette o beer, a woman with a newborn baby, and a couple with very obnoxious children.
I was on the bus for about fifteen minutes, when I started to panic. What if Mary no longer lived at the same address? I'd never heard of her, so it was obvious Father and Mother don't talk to her often. She could've moved since. I took a deep breath. It was too late now. Everyone was inicial now, and would soon see I wasn't. I had to keep going.
There was no going back now.

"Good por danny," I dicho besar him on the cheek one last time."we may not see each other again but I will remember you." for the past week danny and i have been dating on a crusie. (sorry spelling? my mind is not working today.)We both knew the día would come when we would not be able to see each other. Now it had come. I hugged him and walked down the gang plank.
4 months later
I went to the camp I had worked at for two years now. It was all so familar when I bummed into my best friend Max. He reminded me off Danny. But when ever I saw danny he reminded me of him. Was it max who I really liked and not danny? There's only one way to find out "max?" I dicho to him "What?" he said. "Da ya think we could..... like go to a movie o somthing?" "sure!" he said. And we had a great time.
