Here's some stuff I remembered seeing:
Left 4 Dead 3 - So Valve ARE Working On it With the Source 2 Engine?
Snake, what happened?! SNAKE?! SNAAAAAAKE?!! Sums it up really!
So, we\'ve all heard the news that Turtle Rock studios will almost definitely not be returning to the Left 4 Dead series in the future. That IP is with Valve now and there it shall remain. Turtle Rock have moved onto Evolve, which has done surprisingly well in terms of reviews, and I must say, I am actually really enjoying it! I just don\'t feel that lasting appeal like L4D has...
If you\'re playing Evolve be sure to let us know! But what about Left 4 Dead 3? Will we ever hear the announcement of a release date for the PC? And maybe even, following in Portal 2\'s footsteps, for the PS4 and Xbox One? Well, some Source code images in DOTA 2 updates seem to show that Valve were indeed working on left 4 Dead 3.
Left 4 Dead 3 Developed with Valve\'s Source 2 Engine?
In a recent Half-Life 3 speculation video, we got an update that stated that the UGC tools in a DOTA 2 update uncovered the letters \'hl3\'. It spoke about a physics testbed programme that Valve is implementing into Source 2, and low and behold Half-Life 3 was referenced in this code. But that wasn\'t all that was discovered.
In Valve\'s leaked bpm, which we got to see also, we are shown every single main game directory for anything that was found in Valve\'s source 2 game list. This means that Valve was at one point working on these titles with Source 2. So what exactly was found within these here files aside from DOTA 2? Oh nothing, just Left 4 Dead 3.
So basically, what all of this means is that these files indicate what Valve was testing or planning to release with the use of the Source 2 Engine. This is all completely confirmed, and for those of you that have DOTA 2 you guys can check it out yourselves with regards to Half-Life 3. Maybe that game will be coming first?
So, Turtle Rock Studios have completely moved on, but is that to say that Valve will let the series go? Or are they planning on releasing this game and Half-Life 3 on the Source 2 Engine? As always with these titles, this is where we just have to speculate about the possibilities of ever seeing a release date for these games. Hell even Fallout 4 could be on the cards this year with Bethesda hosting their first ever E3 conference. Oh, boy!
So, what do you think L4D fans? Is Valve actually going to release Left 4 Dead 3 on the Source 2 engine in the foreseeable future? Be sure to let us know what you think in the comments below!
