IMO the winx just get lucky or got help; season 1 how the heck did Bloom get the dragon fire back, it was stolen, there is only one dragon fire, that was some major writer picking favorites. Season 3 Bloom would have never won if not for the water stars. Season 2 the specialists did a lot of the work! Where as the witches fought for themselves, and up until the very end (where the winx win through some convenient miracle) they would usually have the upper hand.
