The View experienced several host changes through the end of season 9 and the start of season 10.

Vieira's departure
Meredith Vieira announced on April 6, 2006 that she was leaving the mostrar to become co-host of NBC's The Today Show, which Barbara Walters co-hosted in the 1960s and 1970s, first with Hugh Downs, then with Frank McGee, and later Jim Hartz, replacing Katie Couric (who had just announced she was leaving Today to anchor the CBS Evening News). On April 28, 2006, an announcement was made at the 33rd Daytime Emmy Awards that former talk mostrar host Rosie O'Donnell would be joining the show...

A debate that broke out on “The View” last week was so heated, that it caused a whole lot of commotion and backlash following its airing. The ladies of “The View” had been discussing the “N” word, which led to a debate over whether the word could be used in any context.

Whoopi Goldberg tried to explain to Elizabeth Hasselbeck, why it was okay for black people to use the word, but not white people. Hasselbeck, making the point that we should be moving towards a world in which we are all the same, made the point that she didn’t think it was okay for anybody to use the word.

It's always Rosie O'Donnell versus Elisabeth Hasselbeck when it comes to political discussions – but on The View Wednesday morning, the debate turned personal when O'Donnell called her cohost "cowardly" for not defending O'Donnell's position on the troops in Iraq.

The fuente of the blowup? A discussion last week in which Hasselbeck and O'Donnell debated the meaning of the word "terrorist." O'Donnell asked, "655,000 Iraqi civilians are dead. Who are the terrorists?" On Wednesday, O'Donnell accused Hasselbeck of not defending her when media outlets, including, O'Donnell said, zorro, fox News, claimed...

The View premiered 11 August 1997 replacing Caryl & Marilyn: Real Friends. The original set was a leftover set from a cancelled soap opera, The City; so ABC didn't introduce a new set for The View until its fifth season.

A New York Times review published ten days after the mostrar premiered, and it described what critic Caryn James thought was distinctive about the show.

ABC has been unable to come to a contractual agreement with Rosie O'Donnell. As a result, her hosting duties on "The View" will come to an end mid-June.

"They wanted me three years, I wanted one year, and it just didn't work," dicho O'Donnell on today's show.

Despite controversy -- o maybe because of it -- O'Donnell was good business for ABC, owned por the Walt disney Co. Ratings for "The View" during February sweeps were up 15 percent in key women demographics over the same time in 2006.

Those fans don't have to worry -- she will still be on the mostrar in smaller doses.

Again today it was just the four hosts, with Barbara Walters absent. The first topic was how humid it is in NYC. Sherri Shepherd dicho that NYC is the only place where with the humidity tu wake up wet. Whoopi said, “If tu are lucky.”

Then Whoopi dicho that that they received a letter from a spokesperson from the Barack Obama campaign that the allegation that Obama allowed his prayer to be published was completely false. They didn’t discuss it and left it at that.

There is a new McCain ad about how Obama is a celebrity, which features Britney Spears and Paris Hilton. Whoopi thinks is it...

I was lectura a local news feed in my area and I saw that Joy Behar will be bringing her stand-up routine to Illinois. She will be performing at the Paramount Theater in Aurora, Illinois on September 20th.

I am pretty tempted to get tickets to go see her. I cannot remember ever seeing any of her stand-up routines, although I am sure some of the jokes that she repeats over and over are likely to pop up in the routine. While I think seeing her in person would be fun, I am not sure I can sit through her Salman Rushdie joke again o her tired Monica Lewinsky jokes. I know that she dicho that she...

For the first couple of years of its existence, the series remained rather controversy-free save for criticism dado towards Debbie Matenopoulos, a panelist who was spoofed mercilessly por the critics, who felt that Matenopoulos did not have the proper news credentials for the show. She was ultimately let go in 1999, when her contract was not renewed.

..................................................................................................

Following Matenopoulos' departure, Lisa Ling was announced as the new co-host beating out Rachel Campos and Lauren Sanchez who competed in an on-air...

On September 5, 2006, Rosie O'Donnell made her debut as the new co-host, and moderator of the show. With the new changes in place, September 2006 brought in record ratings. A total of 3.1 million viewers watched that month, the highest total viewership the program has ever seen. The talk mostrar also surged 34% in the advertiser-friendly "women aged 18-49" demographic, and sustained its early season success with its best ever November sweeps period. Entertainment Weekly magazine in March 2007 cited The View as doing for daytime TV what the Daily mostrar has done for nighttime TV in that it offers...

Yeahhhhh>> I'm so happy to tell tu people that it is yet come the time for another season of The View. Some of tu may be wondering how the mostrar still has the same ladies on it for yet another año but it is not surprising to the fans. We all know that the steady change of the ladies on The View were brought about por problems and steady controversies among the panel. Rosie O'Donnel had to go and so did estrella Jones, as Barbara Walters once told CNN news, but it doesn't matter who goes o who stays, the mostrar must go on. And what a daytime televisión mostrar it is indeed for us all to watch....

The View returned for its eleventh season on September 4, 2007, with celebrity guest Danny DeVito. Returning from season 10 were Joy Behar, Elisabeth Hasselbeck, and Barbara Walters. Preliminary ratings mostrar that 3.4 million people watched the debut episode, roughly 1 million less than season 10's debut with O'Donnell, but still ranking as the show's segundo highest season premiere.
