ShadowPaw stalked through the forest as a warm spring breeze ruffled her jet black fur.
Spotting a ratón a few paw steps away, she dropped into a crouch.
Closer and closer she came, until she was almost within pouncing distance.
The ratón seemed to since her presence and quickly vanished under a bush.
“ShadowPaw!” she looked up to see a young calico she-cat racing towards her.
“MaplePaw! tu should know better to…” Then she stopped when she saw her sister’s stricken expression.
“What’s wrong?” she asked.

Two days later:

ShadowPaw crept forward, belly pelaje, piel slightly brushing the ground.
She pounced, her claws sinking into her pray.
Carrying the limp ratón in her jaws, she padded back to NightHawk.
“Great catch.” her mentor meow, before picking up a bird that she had caught earlier.
The two black gatos headed towards the camp with their prey.

As she stepped into the clearing, ShadowPaw saw a large group of warriors and apprentices gathered around WhiteStar.
After dropping her prey into the fresh-kill pile, ShadowPaw curiously followed NightHawk over to the other cats.

An nutria strode silently down the dim hall.
His pelt was black as night and his eyes were as blue as the sky on a cloudless day.
He wore a black tunic, which came down a little past his knees.
From the way he walked to the sly glint in his eyes, it was clear that he was crafty, daring and fierce.
He was young, yes, but he was the most advanced in his classes.
He had won duels with experienced warriors, beat the best archers and had even stolen comida from behind the cook’s back.
The Wave Warriors would be lucky to have him in their army, if he stood up to their expectations.
