As the afternoon approached, Clara was yet to hear from John which was unlike him. All she could think about was seeing his name on the document in Mr Robert's study. What does it mean? Is John leaving? She was so distracted she never noticed that Amy was talking to her.
'Miss? Miss?'
'Hmm?'
'Are tu okay?'
Clara smiled at her
'Im fine, just in world of my own.'
Amy could tell her governess wasn't herself.
'Has father dicho something?'
Clara laughed.
'No sweetie, your father is the kindest man in the world.'
'You just seem sad.'
Clara hugged her.
'Im perfectly fine, I promise.'
She kissed the parte superior, arriba of her head.
'Now how about tu go find your brother and i make tu both some lunch?'
Amy ran off to find Tim. Clara went back inside to the kitchen, thinking how much she would give to have children of her own. She loved Amy and Tim so much but looking after them was different from actually being their mother. She then heard Mr Robert's office door open and out came John.
'Thank tu for your time Mr Robert's.'
'Any time John, just let know what tu decide.' They shook hands then John went outside. Clara slipped out the back door and ran round to the front.
'John.'
He turned round.
'Clara, what's wrong?'
'I havent' heard from you, i thought something terrible had happend.'
'Im fine, i've...well Melody and I just needed to discuss a few things.'
Clara's corazón began to sink.
'Like what?'
John looked round, took her hand and led her into the maze.
'John, what's going on? I saw your name on a document in Mr Robert's office.'
'He's asked me to help expand his buisness..'
'But?'
'But i would be moving to America.'
'America? wow...'
John could tell she was upset.
'So what have tu decided?'
'I haven't yet. Melody wants us to go and part of me wants to also but I don't want to leave without you.'
'John, it's America! You've always wanted to travel and now tu have that chance, but a part of me doesn't want to let tu go.'
John took her hand in his.
'Then what do i do?'
Clara looked at him and sighed.
'You do what tu think is best. No one can decide this but you.'
She kissed his cheek then left to go back inside, John watched her go. A sight he never liked to see but a sight he'd have to get use to as long as they remained a secret. He wanted to go to America but as long as it was Clara who went with him. That was his dream but if Mr Robert's found out about them then it might not happen o if Melody found out...He was torn.
