After more than 200 episodes, the hit CBS comedy has had hundreds of \'bazingas\', thousands of knocks on Penny\'s door and countless arguments about comic heroes.

Here are 12 of the very best episodes that you should check out once again.

Title meaning: Penny kisses Leonard who is wearing a Frodo outfit, to which he replies: "That\'s how we roll in the Shire".

Best moment: Sheldon coming to a fancy dress party as the Doppler effect.

This episode perfectly shows the struggles that the

core four were going through in early seasons. One word: women (apart from Sheldon).

Penny throws a fancy dress party, and the gang show off their love for dressing up with mixed reactions. Leonard has a scuffle with Penny\'s ex-boyfriend, Sheldon attempts to be Leonard\'s wingman and Raj manages to pull despite not being physically able to talk to women. It also marks the first time that Leonard and Penny kiss.

Title meaning: Refers to Penny\'s obsession with online game

Best moment: Penny realising she has to get help on discovering that she was chatting to Howard online.

After Penny hits rock bottom in her love and professional situations, she gets hooked on the

, and keeps bugging Sheldon with how to play it properly.

It was one of the first times that we got to see \'Shenny\', the great comedy pairing of Sheldon and Penny, and it remains one of Penny\'s best ever episodes.

Title meaning: Sheldon says to Penny in the car: "You\'re going up Euclid Avenue? Leonard takes Los Robles Avenue."

Best moment: Sheldon completely failing at a driving simulator and crashing into helpless citizens.

One of the first episodes that showed that Sheldon was clearly the breakout character, and the focus shifted from Leonard to his irritating roommate.

Sheldon demands his friends drive him around for his various errands, annoying the crap out of everyone in the process. In turn they demand that he finally learn how to drive, which doesn\'t exactly go to plan.

Title meaning: A reference to Sheldon\'s sarcastic comment about how Penny can retrieve her laundry from the telephone wires across the street.

Sheldon bans Penny from the apartment after she receives the dreaded \'three strikes\' for various bits of bad behaviour. The two are then constantly squabbling over laundry and WiFi codes to the point where Penny has to tell on him to his mother. The worst betrayal!

Meanwhile, Leonard, Howard and Raj get obsessed with Penny\'s favourite show

, with the latter two pretending to be handymen so they can infiltrate the mansion.

Title meaning: Sheldon trying to work out what sized bath-related gift to give to Penny for Christmas.

Best moment: Sheldon trembling with excitement after Penny gives him a gift with Leonard Nimoy\'s autograph (and saliva).

A lovely little Christmas episode which focuses on Sheldon attempting to understand what is an acceptable gift to give to a friend like Penny, and ends up getting the best gift ever (see video above).

Leonard is also upset to learn about Penny\'s latest squeeze, especially as it turns out he is as smart as he is, and better looking.

Title meaning: The lack of "whimsical" adhesive duck appliqués in Penny\'s bath like the ones Sheldon uses.

Best moment: Leonard, Raj and Howard getting stoned in the desert.

Another episode that features the Shenny team up, as Sheldon is forced to break the law by driving an injured Penny to hospital after she slips in the bathroom. It\'s quite sweet seeing their bizarre friendship grow by this point.

The best part of the episode though features Leonard, Howard and Raj, who manage to accidentally get high while waiting for a meteor shower in the desert after a couple of middle-aged hippies gave them \'special\' cookies. It\'s probably the funniest Leonard has ever been.

Title meaning: "Excelsior" is known as one of Stan Lee\'s famous catchphrases. It\'s also on the flag of the state of New York and is its motto.

Best moment: Stan Lee giving Sheldon a restraining order after he invites himself into his house.

Somehow, Stuart manages to get Stan Lee to do a signing at his comic book store, much to the excitement of the gang. However, Sheldon can\'t go because he has to go to court for the aforementioned law-breaking in \'The Adhesive Duck Deficiency\'. Stan Lee was one of the first of many cult heroes to guest star in

Another highlight was Sheldon scripting Penny\'s statement in court as he was concerned she was too much of a "loose cannon", only for him to be marched to jail for contempt.

Title meaning: How a failed experiment destroys the elevator, forcing the characters to use the staircase instead.

Best moment: The \'Die Sheldon Die\' sign left behind from Sheldon\'s former roommate.

We finally find out how Sheldon and Leonard first met, and why Leonard is so patient with Sheldon\'s crazy demands (he has an awesome apartment, for one).

Flashback episodes are normally fun, and this is a brilliant example as it shows how the gang became friends and how they were even

Title meaning: Refers to Brussels sprouts that Sheldon adds to his diet, causing him severe flatulence.

Best moment: A robotic Sheldon having a discussion with Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak.

Sheldon realises that he won\'t live long enough to experience transferring his mind to a robot, and so decides to prolong his life by changing his diet and building a Mobile Virtual Presence Device.

Said device is hooking an iPad up to a roaming mobility program, webcam and speakers. Seeing Sheldon\'s face light up as he wheels himself around is hilarious, and makes one wonder why this doesn\'t happen more often. Well, probably because device is a magnet for thieves, but still. There\'s also a great virtual singalong of \'Soft Kitty\' as a bonus.

Title meaning: Alludes to the on-off nature of Leonard and Penny\'s relationship, with Penny considering breaking up with Leonard despite recently getting back together.

Best moment: Penny describing her relationship with Leonard as a "better, boring kind of love".

Sheldon gets upset when he learns from Amy that Penny may be about to break up with Leonard. Through general meddling he manages to put Penny off doing so - purely as it would disrupt the general order of things, but also because he secretly loves their relationship.

Elsewhere, Stuart stands in for Howard while he\'s in space, and he has a really touching moment when talking to wife Bernadette back home - though Sheldon isn\'t completely convinced if Stuart is a good replacement.

Title meaning: Referring to the love spell placed upon Sheldon and Amy\'s characters in their

Best moment: While the girls are getting ready for Vegas, the boys are extremely excited about their board game night, shouting "The dungeon of Mabusdahegro! The dungeon of Mabusdahegro! The dungeon of Mabusdahegro!"

After a failed attempt to go to Las Vegas because Amy broke a TSA agent\'s nose, the girls join the guys in a night of

and get surprisingly into it, mainly thanks to Howard\'s dungeon master impressions of Christopher Walken and Al Pacino.

Sheldon and Amy take their relationship to the next level by simulating PG-rated sex via their

characters - which for them is a huge step! Plus, Raj finally gets intimate with a girl named Lucy, who is even more shy than he is.

Title meaning: Refers to all of Mrs Wolowitz\'s food that will be spoiled if not eaten quickly.

Best moment: Howard coming to realise that Bernadette sounds exactly like his overbearing mother.

A genuinely moving episode following the death of Carol Ann Susi, the actress who played Howard\'s mother. After his mother passes, her fridge breaks and he realises he\'s never going to taste her meals ever again. This was a rare moment of pathos and was a great performance by Simon Helberg.

The gang get together to eat all of Howard\'s mother\'s food in one go, and it was a fitting way to say goodbye to the character and the actress that played her. The episode still managed to bring in the laughs during a tough time for the cast and crew.
