Right now I really can't stand Glee. But if Lost was still going on I'd probably say that.

Nether Lost nor Friends are overrated. In fact, imo, they are perfectly rated in tune with their amazing stories, characters, scenes, everything.

Apart from those two that are great shows, the only other I've watched is Glee, which is definitely overrated considering it's not very good. It definitely can be entertaining, but the characters are very badly developed, half of the stories make no sense, there isn't a clear path being followed at any point throughout the show...

Damn, all of the above! I like NCIS but I thought JAG was SO much better! As for House It's my favorite show but is very overrated and has let me down in the past couple of seasons so... And as for the rest they're just all really overrated!

I love it but it really it, and after the first 13 episodes doesnt deserve any of the awards its won!

Lost as well, i thought its first couple of seasons were brilliant but then it just became too stupid!

TVD again i love and watch but compare it to BTVS ATS and True Blood and it doesnt hold a note!

Friends is nower near over rated, infact when it was on air it hardly received any recognition, especially when it came to awards seasons, and what makes it funny is alot of the shows that beat them have nowere near the longevity that Friends has had!

And NCIS is the most popular scripted show on air right now for a reason!

NCIS IS NOT OVERRATED. If anything it's perfect, or underrated, not over! Like x-missmckena-x said, it's the most popular scripted show for a reason!

As for Lost... I don't see how it's overrated, not even slightly. When you compare it to shows like Gossip Girl, TVD, -insert crappy teen show here- then if anything, it's underrated. It doesn't have half as many fans as it should.

Oh and Glee... I just can't stand this show, lol. Predictable, boring, cheesey and badly written.

Not really....the hype that friends got is unfair. It had funny parts but the premise and storylines are recycled from other sitcoms and the characters are just not that funny.

Really! These shows are all in the 6 digits of fans for their respective spots. Compare those to the ones in my underrated list. Home Movies has 92 fans! Damages has 176! I mean, really.

Even though some shows I like are on the list it's a very accurate and good list for what I think she meant for it to be.

When a tv show is good, and I mean really good, people tell other people to watch it. And that is what happened with Friends - that's why it became so successful. With shows like TVD/Glee/Gossip Girl the overratedness comes from the fact that they have hot goys, cover versions of great songs etc, so obviously people will cause hype over those shows because they have what the majority of people want. Friends stood out because it's original, it doesn't need hot guys and teenage angst to work and it IS genuinely funny.

I think people get confused between shows that are overrated and shows that are popular in their own right!

I am not confused about what is popular in their own right or what is overrated. I think people mistake their bias for what is genuinely worthy of praise. I am quite sure the TVD/Glee/GG fanbase you're dissing so much would love to argue the fact that their shows are overrated. Some would even flat out admit that they like some of those shows FOR the hot guys.

So, what you're saying is that word of mouth helps gain a show's audience? No arguing that. But, in the case with most of these shows I listed the media hypes them to an insane degree and many people will watch something just because they're told to.

Oh okay, I see what you're saying. Yeah, Friends got a hell of a lot of praise from the media, there's no denying that. But in my opinion, people wouldn't carry on watching a TV show even if they didn't like it. At least, I wouldn't, lol.

I agree with Glee and TVD (haven't watched House or NCIS so I couldn't comment), the media industry really does hype them up to be something they're not. But believe me, Lost has suffered a LOT in the press, especially after the finale, so I don't see how it's overrated, just sayin...

Glee is so overrated it's unreal. I like the first half of S1 but after that it just became stupid, boring and there were so many plot holes. Also, everyone I know seems to watch and like this show and it isn't that good anyway.

I can't believe Friends is in this pick :O I'm not being bias here, but I strongly believe that they aren't overrated for the reasons people have stated. I can't say anything about NCIS and House because I haven't seen them.

As for Lost... although I love it I agree it's overrated (Well in the last couple of seasons) because the writers made the characters OOC, like Sawyer. And TVD I think it depends. Some of the storyline this season has been TERRIBLE because the writers have been determined to sell SE as a perfect love story when the truth is no one cares but overall I don't think it's overrated. S1 I felt it was a little, but not S2 because though it's recieved a lot of love, it's also recieved a lot of hate. However, I think most CW shows tend to be overrated at one point in their viewing time.

Haven't seen Lost or Glee, can't say anything about them.
NCIS wasn't that bad, but I wasn't interested enough to keep watching it.
I believe that Friends and TVD are amazing.
So that leaves me House... I've tried it, more than once actually, but I couldn't like it.

I love Friends, favorite show, but it's not that good so I understand the overrated (by fans not critic). And Lost is incredible and deserves all the hype it gets imo
Glee is just goddamm awful, especially the writing and it's one of the most watched shows. Also it gets awards, HOW???
House is always the same thing, only good thing is Hugh Laurie and occasionally the writing or directing

I love all of these show's, but in my opinion Vampire Diaires isn't that good. I like it, but come on, and the fact that it totally ripped off the book, and isn't even following it. I think that Glee should get the most rated because it's the best thing to come around since Buffy. House is kind of fading out, and Lost was a big hype, but since it's over it isn't anymore, and Friends was epic, and NCIS does tie with Vampire Diaries because it does get a little to much attention.

@Emm another thing to note is the praise a show gets after its over. People continue to be obsessed with "Friends" even after its over. Lots of shows may have been overrated at their airing but now are tossed aside for shows that pale in comparison to it.

And i see what you think about the whole hot guy/girl thing but isnt that why people watched Friends too? Because of Courtney Cox and Jennifer Aniston?
