Kate-Jane picked Normally Steve is patient but in specific situations Steve can be strict.:
I guess Steve is mostly patient. He only gets strict when his kid misbehaves willfully again and again.
- Steve was so indulgent and tolerant with the college boy who had a gun. > Season 1, Episode 3
- In one episode (Season 3, Episode 11) Steve took care of a boy very patiently who broke a window, set off a fire alarm willfully and ran away
- In Season 4, Episode 14 Steve answered to Danny's question if he was to hard on Grace with a clear "I think so"
- Steve was very tolerant and indulgent to the teenaged boy who stole his car. Steve even bought food and new clothes for the boy and provided the boy with a job. > Season 5, Episode 12
