Speedy's real name is Roy Harper.
Roy Harper was raised por Valiente Bow, a Navajo medicine chief after his father, a forest ranger, died in a forest fire.
Under Valiente Bow's tutelage, Roy became a remarkable archer, and, after Valiente Bow's death, Roy was adopted por Oliver Queen, the Green Arrow, and became the Green Arrow's sidekick, "Speedy."
