One of the surprise standouts of Netflix’s supernatural drama series
was Barb, Nancy’s bff played by Shannon Purser. The character quickly became a fan favorite despite meeting her end in the Upside Down, but creators Matt and Ross Duffer promise her justice in a hypothetical season 2. 
During an interview with IGN, Matt said he “can’t see” Barb appearing in the next chapter, but promised she “will not be forgotten.” He said, “We’ll make sure there’s some justice for Barb. People get very frustrated, understandably, that the town doesn’t seem to be really dealing with Barb. That stuff is all happening. We’re just not spending any screen time on it.”
Matt continued, “It’s not like her parents are like, ‘Oh, Barb left.’ She died! Season 1 actually takes place over the course of six or seven days – it’s a really short period of time. So part of what we want to do with [a] hypothetical season 2 is to explore the repercussions of everything that happened.” 
she was surprised by all the love for her very first role. “The Internet buzz for Barb specifically was a lot more than I ever expected,” she said. “Me and my sisters and my mom, we all gather around and look at all the fan art. It’s absolutely incredible.
 for a second season, but the series was a massive hit and the Duffer brothers have ideas about what they’d like to explore.
