I love this musical.

as brilliant as every single one of these is, i would have to say assassins is the most moving. it's exactly what theatre is meant to be - direct, immediate, and unsettling. the entire time that i watched this musical, i was frozen with what can only be described as fear. and i left that theatre seeing the united states in a new light. what is a free country? can a definition even be put to this overused phrase?
