tough choice .The movie didt narrate clarity about the love and all i can say is just vagueness they have.We dunno that Haku able to come back to real world or not since he just promise he would.But i wish they really in "love" when haku did it! lol

At least this is what I want to believe! I wish they were in love, but at least we know for sure that they did love each other. That's all that matters.

I think that she did "Love" him as a friend and she looked to him to protect her in the spirit world because she had no one else. Haku was drawn to her because of when they first met when he was part of the river and I think that during the movie their feelings grew for each other. I think Haku can come back to her because he can change shape from dragon to human and visa virsa. Haku isn't the water as such he is like the physical form of the river so I think, and pray that he can return tyo her.

Ehh Idk what to say. They were friends and they did love each other, but I wouldn't just say as "friends". They have helped each other more than a normal being. When it comes to Miyazaki's movies, someone at least... has to be in love.
