Symbiote was already done, albeit poorly, in Spider-Man 3. Clone Saga was a trainwreck. I guess that leaves Spider-Verse as the only one with cinematic potential.

Symbiote is the only one that could work on a movie on its own. With Spider-Verse and Clone Saga you'd have to explain a crapload of things that wouldn't make sense for the non-comic reading audience (parallel dimensions, clones, loads of backstory...)
