No, it isn't a hindrance! Just because the age is different por a few years, doesn't make them not fit for eachother! I have a friend who has a dad that is 10 years older then her mom! So, when it comes to love, it doesn't metter! Please, continue to support this couple! Age means nothing, compared to love! (btw it is discussion, since tu wanted to know!)

at the beginning amu is in 5th grade, and she's 11, and later she turns 12 when she moves to 6th grade. por that time, ikuto tells her he's 17 and a senior in high school (in the manga). And in season 3, she's still in elementary school, so she's 12, when she goes to junior high she'll be 13
