I do not care about this "new" batch of characters. Mindy especially, as she's just the Walmart version of the superior Kirby Reed. The sub-plot with Sam/Billy was interesting, I'd love to know where that's headed! I also was not a fan of all the unnecessary romance. Again, I don't care about these characters so establishing a romantic life for them in only their second film is utterly pointless. Those are wasted minutes that could have been used on more death scenes and gore. I did really love the twist though! The killer or killers were very close to Scream 2's killers while also remaining original. Overall, I enjoyed this movie more than Scream 5 and I was thrilled to see Kirby back! My only major complaint was that there are too many survivors at the end. Why can't Ghostface properly kill anyone anymore?

^ I agree! It's like these new characters has thing in their contract, saying they can be harmed, stabbed many times, but they can't be killed. I wish these new directors had the guts to kill at least one of these new characters, like Wes and Kevin had the gut to kill off Randy in Scream 2.

Agreed on the characters being subpar (and yeah, Mindy is unlikeable as fuck. Too bad to finally get LGBT+ rep and she’s one of the worst characters).

Despite that, this was good…. Till the last 20 minutes. Between not having the guts to kill anyone, leading to a whopping seven survivors, and the plothole-filled killer reveal, this movie totally shot itself in the foot. I’m not even excited for 7 at this point, really.
