As The Queen turns 89 today, here\'s why we love her. In no particular order

1. She was a good enough sport to send herself up in the mini James Bond film she made for the London Olympics. Whoever thought we\'d see the actual Queen on the screen with 007?
2. In an age of over-sharing, she is the arch under-sharer. We still don\'t know what she really thinks about anything.
3. On VE Day she slipped out of the Palace to partaaaay with the rest of the country.
4. She played an absolute blinder on her 2011 state visit to Ireland, winning praise even from Gerry Adams.

5. Her infallible sense of style. In a lifetime of public experiences, has she ever had a single fashion disaster?
6. How many octogenarians do you know who still ride horses?
7. How many octogenarians do you know who are still as active as she is, for that matter?

10. That Thames Diamond Jubilee Pageant we had in 2012 was good fun...
11. ...As was that concert in her honour, even despite Gary Barlow\'s involvement.
12. She\'s thrown an awful lot of garden parties, which makes her the ultimate hostess, even if she doesn\'t have to sweep cucumber sandwich crumbs off the floor afterwards.

13. She\'s thrifty - she turns off the lights to save electricity...
14. ...And practical - she apparently keeps a suction cup in her handbag. (Essential for what exactly? Why, attaching a hook to tables, on which to hang said bag, of course.)
