REALLY tough question for me, since I originally chose Turtwig as my starter. . .

I usually NEVER choose water-starters, since there already are so many good water-types that you can encounter, and not that many of fire-types. Well, Mudkip is the only water-starter I've chosen, because it evolves into a water/ground-type.

not because i am a piplup girl(which i am not) i just ALWAYS use chimchar or turtwig

I'd pick almost every water type because it's my favorite type.

piplup is cute but i like chimcar

same as shunron i had turtwig as a starter and chimchar is a fire type and i hate it
piplup has good flying attacks like peck and steel wing etc....
flying is the best
