Well, in Disney's movie Phoebus isn't a stupid mindless guy, who only wants to use Esmeralda,and cheats on his wife-to-be. He definitely has a mind on his own. :)

Yeah, sure Patrick Fiori was great in this role, but it's easy to hate Phoebus from the musical, cause he himself orders to hang Esmeralda...

i agree...phoebus was the villain in the original story, not frollo!

Well, maybe he wasn't a villain in the book, rather in the musical. In Hugo's novel Phoebus is just a stupid guy, who's maybe even bit lost in his own desires. He seems to know no life. Plus, he's not guilty of Esmeralda's death, I mean, he never ordered to hung her. He even had no idea that she was hiding in Gudule's cell. True, he could try to save Esmeralda, but I think he was just too afraid of what the others would say, especially Fleur-de-Lys, about him if he'd save her from hanging. She was still a Gypsy... In these times a Gypsy was less than nothing, actually.

He was cool in the Disney movie. He was a poncy cock in the book.

Well, Disney made all new version of Phoebus, definitely my favourite one!

patrick was great, and i never thought that he was a villain, rather a stupid boy, like esmeralda was a stupid girl, both in the book and in the musical.

But you gotta love him in the film. He's witty, sweet, charming and has a good heart!

The Disney version is the best!

The only thing I like from Phoebus in the musical is that is palyed by Patrick Fiori
