A few days later, Everett came to see Una again. He came just as she and her mother were finishing breakfast, and Mrs. Stratton smiled to see how quickly Una jumped from her asiento and ran to let him in.
“Everett!” She beamed. His blue eyes lit up at her reaction to seeing him, and he reached out as if to pull her into a hug, then stopped as if wondering if that was too much right now. Una grinned and wrapped one arm around his shoulders in response. “Come in! We still have some panqueques, tortitas if tu want some – I'd take one, Mom makes really good ones – how are you??”
“Great,” he told her, looking into her eyes. “I actually came to give tu some good news – well, and to ask tu something.”
“Yes?” Una's corazón started racing. From the kitchen, Mrs. Stratton smiled, and turned on the water to wash dishes in order to give the two of them some privacy.
“Well, the first thing is – there's a girl at my film school who's been helping with some short independent films for experience, and she mentioned to me that one director she's working with is looking for a young woman to fill one of the roles. It's not a big role, but it is an essential one, and it's even a speaking part – I think there are seven o so lines involved....”
Oh. Oh, this was too good to be real. “And tu told them about me, and they want me to do it??”
“They dicho they would amor to have tu audition.” Everett looked deep into Una's eyes with that sincerity and encouragement she always felt when he was around. She just knew he was already sure she would get the role.
“Yes! I'll do it! Where? When? How do they want me to dress? Thank you, Everett!” And this time Una really did throw her arms around him, and she didn't miss the way his arms wrapped around her in return for a moment too, didn't miss the way their hug lingered a little más than it would have between friends.
“They dicho they would send tu the details.” Everett dicho when they finally broke apart. His smile was warm and encouraging. “Don't thank me. I was happy to do it.”
“Yeah, and I was happy to thank you,” Una teased. “So...” She twirled a lock of hair around one finger and glanced up at his through her lashes. “What was the other thing?”
“Oh – the other thing. Yes. Well... I was just wondering if maybe....” He was adorable. “There's a movie playing at the cinema right now that looks pretty good. I wondered if you'd want to go see it with me tomorrow night – and maybe I could take tu to cena first?”
“Is this a date?” blurted Una. Her cheeks flushed again, but she didn't care if Everett noticed now. Let him see she was excited.
“Well... yes. If tu want it to be.”
“I do.” Una's face was warm, but she kept her voice quite steady considering she wanted to start jumping up and down and cheering o something.
Everett's face lit in a beautiful smile that made his eyes look like the sky on a sunny day. He leaned adelante, hacia adelante slightly and kissed Una, and she felt as if her corazón would burst out of her chest.
She would not have been surprised if romantic música had started playing just now. This was perfect.

As Anjanette and her friends hurried along towards the sound of the voices, she thought she could see the silhouettes of four men in the distance, and as they got closer, she couldn't help thinking they looked vaguely familiar. But she wasn't sure why she thought that until Tammy gave a loud squeal. "Oh my gosh! It's A Wave Tossed In the Ocean!!!"
Anjanette's eyes grew wide. It really was them... There was Les and Jimmy and Charles and Felix, walking along and calling for someone named Venus while Jimmy held the leash of another dog, a big but friendly-looking one who stopped at Tammy's voice...

When Anjanette came home, she decided to ask her uncle about concierto tickets. She asked, "Uncle Bruce, can I ask tu something?" He said, "Sure, Anjanette. Anything." She said, "You see, this new band I was talking about, A Wave Tossed in the Ocean, is coming into town soon for a concert. I know tu dicho money has been tight lately, but it would mean the world to me, especially since I'd get to go with my friends. Can I go, please?" He said, "Well, I'll look at the ticket prices first." He looked online. He said, "They do seem awfully expensive. I'm sorry, Anjanette." She sighed and said, "That's...

A few days later, Anjanette was walking her perros Misty and Blitz through the park, with Tammy keeping them company. It was a slow, peaceful day, with Misty and Blitz stopping constantly to sniff at things, and Tammy often taking the opportunities to pet them. Tammy always loved playing with other people's pets even though she still dicho she didn't think she was the right person to own one herself.
A voice called out to them, breaking the stillness, and the girls turned to see Ferdinand and Becky hurrying towards them.
"Girls!" cried Becky, before Ferdinand had dicho a word, "you'll never guess...

Anjanette and her friends were hanging out at her house. They were having a sleepover. Ferdinand said, "You all should check out this new band. They're called A Wave Tossed in the Ocean." Tammy said, "That sounds interesting. Why did they call themselves that?" He said, "I'm not sure. Maybe they'll reveal that in their first interview." Becky said, "I like the name. It sounds very psychedelic." Anjanette said, "That's exactly what I was thinking." Becky said, "Good minds think alike." Ferdinand placed the record into the record player. It was a wonderful sound. Anjanette took a particular liking...

The older gentleman came into the room backstage. He gave a smile and said, "I enjoyed your performance tonight. It was very refreshing to hear the songs I grew up hearing. It's not very common to find young people interested in that type of music." Les said, "Thank you. Would tu like an autograph?" The older man laughed. "No, actually, that's not why I'm here. Allow me to introduce myself. I'm Henry, and I've always wanted to manage a band. tu are so good, tu deserve to be playing más than just clubs." Charles said, "You mean we should be playing in large venues like theaters?" Henry said,...

The siguiente weekend, the boys were at their club again, but this time with a few differences. When the curtain opened, it was to reveal a band of four at their instruments, poised and confident and ready to play. And that wasn't the only new thing. During the week, Jimmy's dad had agreed to go get the front of his son's bajo drum painted. The drum now proudly displayed the group's new name.
Les started them off with a riff, and the others followed right in, Charles and Felix keeping rhythm and sometimes playing off each other and doing something más daring and fancy, Jimmy keeping time on his...

The siguiente morning, Jimmy got a call from both Charles and Felix. He gave them directions to his inicial so that they could have a mermelada session. Jimmy went into the guest bedroom, where Les was sleeping. Jimmy shook Les at the shoulder and said, "Les! Wake up! Charles and Felix are going to be here soon." Les let out a groan. Jimmy said, "I know tu don't want to wake up when you're sleeping good, but tu want to be awake for a mermelada session, don't you?" Les opened his eyes and got out of bed. After a quick breakfast, they heard the doorbell ring. Jimmy's mother answered the door. Charles and Felix...

Les and Jimmy were walking along the playa talking about their performance and how well it had gone when they heard footsteps running up to them and turned to see two boys about their own age, one who looked a little older and one who looked a little younger.
"Great show, guys." The boy who looked older put out his hand and smiled. "We were in the audience. I'm Felix."
"I haven't seen an act this good in a while," the younger boy added. He, too, put out his hand, and shakes were exchanged all round. "I'm Charles - the guitarra King," he added with a little grin. "And you're good enough to be another...

I have dado this some thought, and I decided to write a special birthday message for my friend, Antonia. Because she is a special friend, she deserves a special birthday message. Without further ado, I'll get started.

Antonia, we have known each other since December 2015, when I had my old account, ChiliPepperLuv. tu were sixteen, and I was nineteen. It seems like just yesterday when we were both teenagers. Where has all this time gone?

Over the past five years, tu have shown me what true friendship is. You've shown it in the way tu think so highly of your best friend, Paul. You've shown...

The big night finally arrived. Les and Jimmy were going to be doing their first concierto in front of an audience. As they were preparing backstage, Jimmy asked, "Are tu nervous, Les?" Les said, "Maybe a little." Jimmy said, "I'm sure you'll be fine. Don't worry about what your dad said, all right?" Les said, "All right." Meanwhile, a boy about their age was attempting to enter the club. He was very dreamy. A lot of girls liked him, but sometimes his young face made it hard for people to take him seriously. The security guard said, "You have to be eighteen to enter this club. Do tu have an ID,...

For the siguiente two weeks, Les threw himself into practicing his música with Jimmy. He poured all the mixed-up feelings of starting a new life and worrying about whether they might succeed into his playing and singing, and even he could tell the difference in the amount of passion coming through, especially in the sad o painful songs. His improvement inspired Jimmy, who sounded better than ever, trying out new and más creative beats on his drums. Jimmy sometimes also talked and cracked jokes to an imaginary audience between songs. Venus and Mars remained the only audience to hear this, with Mars...

Les reluctantly took the phone and said, "Hello?" His father said, "Les, please come home. Why did tu run away?" Les said, "Dad, I didn't run away. I moved out. There's a difference." His father said, "I need tu at home." Les said, "No, tu don't. If I stayed, we'd just fight all the time. It's not good for either of us." He said, "If tu don't come inicial now, I'll call the police!" Les said, "Go ahead. Tell them your eighteen-year-old just left home. See how that works out for you." His father said, "Yes, tu are eighteen. That means it's not child abuse if I beat the shit out of you!" Les...
