The members of New Religion were sitting down to dinner. Carl asked, "When are tu going to write our new song, Paul?" Paul said, "I intend to start after dinner." Erin said, "That sounds great. I know you'll have a really good song. You're such a talented songwriter." This made Paul smile. After dinner, Paul went out on the back porch. It was unusually warm for late March in Oak Ridge. He look around for some inspiration. He wrote down the first verse and sang it to himself. Just when he thought he had come up with a great song, something happened. It was something that hadn't happened in a long time. Paul had writer's block. Lola came out and said, "It's getting late, Paul. How's that song coming?" He said, "Not so good. Oh, Lola, I have writer's block." She said, "I'm sure you'll think of something, Paul. Maybe you'll come up with something after a good night's rest." He said, "You're right." After everyone had settled in their beds, Paul tried to go to sleep, but no matter what he did, he couldn't stop thinking about his new song for the band. He tossed and turned. He finally got up and went back to what he had written. He tried to find a chorus. Not wanting to wake anyone, he sung it in his head. He thought, No, that doesn't work. After several failed attempts, he was getting frustrated. He kept on trying until 3:00 am. Finally, he was overcome with exhaustion. He fell asleep in a rather awkward position.
After a long time of getting bullied, I began to consider self-harm. I confessed this consideration to Zoe and Gavin. Zoe said, "Please don't hurt yourself. It's not the answer." Gavin said, "Zoe's right. If tu hurt yourself, you'll have to deal with all those scars. Why do tu want to hurt yourself anyway?" I began to cry. He hugged me and said, "It's all right. tu can tell me." I talked about all the bullying I was facing. Zoe said, "Alyssa, those bullies are just losers. tu have family and friends who amor you." Gavin said, "That's right. tu don't have to hurt yourself. Any time something is bothering you, tell us." I said, "Okay." Zoe said, "If tu hurt yourself, tu won't be the only one who hurts. We'll be hurt, too." I said, "I don't want to hurt tu all." We shared a group hug. Over the years, I gained some friends and lost some, too, but I still had Zoe and Gavin. They will be my closest friends until the end of time.
