Parenting Favorito! Childproofing Stories/Tips?

After reading a few of the links on childproofing, I'm interested to hear some stories about others' childproofing experiences.

Our son, Blake, loves to climb and explore, so we had a couple of scary incidents where he unlocked the doors and let himself out (into the front yard, then scurried around into the back). I've put in simple bolts near the tops of both the front and back doors, and we haven't had that recur. Kids are fascinated by fluid dynamics, too, so we've had to keep the bathroom and kitchen blocked off when we aren't actively watching him, so we don't end up with more jumbo-sized toothpaste tubes or tubs of antibacterial soap emptied all over the place (do you know how hard a large volume of toothpaste is to clean up?).

Thankfully, we are past the point where electrical outlets hold any fascination for him, so we don't have to worry that he'll stop his heart or burn off his fingers, as friends have done (though the AC in the USA probably would prevent such drastic burns).

We've given him his own kitchen cabinet, stocked with his own place settings and plastic utensils, so he no longer tries to get into the other cabinets (and we've removed the obviously dangerous stuff, like sharp implements and caustic materials, to out of reach places).

In fact, now that he's three and a half, he seems to have gone over the hump, so to speak, and is more interested in how things are done correctly (as a "Big Kid") than in testing to see how stuff breaks. Now our big concern is to get him to stop throwing his stuff...
