The first post-game, which will air Thursday, April 14 at 11 p.m. ET following the season 4 premiere of
, will include stars Tatiana Maslany and Kevin Hanchard.
As for the fourth season, executive producers John Fawcett and Graeme Manson revealed at WonderCon on Saturday that they’ll be going back to basics in a lot of ways by delving into a particular mystery from the pilot. “We really wanted to look at the first season this year,” Manson said. “We wanted to go back to that moment on the tracks with Beth and Sarah and go, ‘What did Sarah miss?’ There’s more story there.”
“We wanted to get that feel back, that feel of season 1 where you don’t know who the bad guy is, you don’t know who you’re speaking to,” Fawcett added. “That was the goal of season 4.”
With that in mind, the season will also explore more of the dynamic between Beth and Art (Kevin Hanchard), who were partners in the police force before her death. “Art’s biggest fear is that he wasn’t there for Beth and that’s what haunts him,” Hanchard said, noting that Art is a fully fledged member of the Clone Club this year. “We really get to delve into it in season 4.”
But the producers were less forthcoming on the fate of Delphine (Evelyne Brochu), who was shot in the season 3 finale. “Delphine had such a brave journey last year,” Manson said. “For us as storytellers, what we’re talking about right now is a mystery. Obviously there’s not that much we can say, but it is a big part of season 4: What happened there?”
“Cosima is really in a place where she’s really having difficulty moving on because she doesn’t have answers,” Fawcett added. “She’s investigating and trying to come up with answers so she can either move or…” But the executive producer trailed off, leaving viewers to wonder if there may be hope.
But the mystery behind Delphine’s fate isn’t the only fear going into next season. “Felix’s biggest fear is being left behind,” Jordan Gavaris said, recalling the season 3 revelation that connects Kendal (Alison Steadman), Mrs. S (Maria Doyle Kennedy) and Sarah by blood. “The big part of his relationship with his sister hinges on them being these wayward, nomadic orphans. They’ve never had a home and home is with each other and now it’s not. He has to work out what that means. His biggest fear is that he’s going to be alone.”
“Felix needs to sort out what Sarah means to him and what S means to him now that there’s this blood tie,” Gavaris added. “There’s jealousy at play. If he’s not getting it from Sarah, maybe he’s getting it from somewhere else.”
On the clone front, the bosses promised we’ll see much more of Krystal Goderitch, the flighty Leda clone who was introduced last season. Unfortunately, they were much more coy on whether we’d see Tony this season. “I totally love Tony and we really want to see him,” Manson said. “I have an image in mind for when Tony does return to the show and it begins with a muscle car pulling up… and Felix is in the backseat.”
