Definitely this. Him coming back just made me miss him and his role on the show even more than I already did.

I was so excited but in fact nothing really happened. He just took the kids and that was it. The old Lucas would've done anything to save his brother even if that meant he should leave his family for awhile.

I'd say Lucas's return was pointless in furthering the story lines, but CMM's return had a point- and that was to give fans what they wanted. Fans wanted to see CMM return, so they brought him back for an episode. But it did nothing for the story line except explain that Jamie & Lydia may not be in the next few episodes.

Part of me wishes Lucas never left the show. It was weird to see him back for only a few minutes and to just interact with Haley & Jamie. But then I rewatch season 6 and I am kind of thankful he's gone. I used to love Lucas but by season 6 I found him so boring. So if he was going to continue to be as boring as he was to me in season 6, then I can't really say I wish he never left the show.

Overall though it was great to see him. He made good references to Peyton & Sawyer without detracting from the current story lines, he was able to provide support to Jamie that Jamie wasn't able to get elsewhere, and he always has the sweetest interactions with Haley.

But i wish his Girls was with him:)
