Of course I remember it. Part of me thinks it was a spur of the moment thing, as people get crazy after a great loss. And I don't think she particuarly wanted her mom dead, it was a sacrifice for her curse. Sort of like Rumple letting go of Bae for power or Cora letting go of Rumple for queendom. All 3 wanted to keep the person they were going to abandon, but all choose the wrong option. Which leads to why I don't think it was stupid or bi-polar of Gina to cry over her mother's death. Because she didn't have any power/curses to choose over her mother therefore was able to make the right decision. And she really does love her mom.

I think she was upset mostly because she finally got to see her mother show love towards her. She had good intentions when she put Cora's heart back in. She wanted her mother to love her. When she hired Hook, she thought her mother was too far down the evil path. He didn't kill her (if I remember correctly, Cora made a new deal with Hook). Also, wasn't Regina scared of her mother? All those previous assumptions were changing when Regina put her heart back in. I mean if anyone was told they could make someone a better person by doing such and then killed the person they were trying to help, they'd have a right to be upset.

So it's okay for Regina to wanna kill Cora but when Snow White does it it's bad

@banditsns1391 Great answer! Totally agree.

Gina was a little crazy then she was completely driven by her need for revenge and anything that got in the way had to go. I would like to point out though that she did cry when she killed her mother although I didn't feel sorry for her then. That was also before she adopted Henry and remembered what love was. She is a very different person now. She isn't searching for revenge anymore, she searching for love (or at least she was, that might have changed when Cora died).

@kataralover I have higher expectation for Snow. I don't think any less of Gina for killing someone because I expect her too. Snow is good, so I expect better from her. Good guys don't get as much slack as bad guys.

"So it's okay for Regina to wanna kill Cora but when Snow White does it it's bad"
- One might argue that the relationship between Regina and Cora is an apple, while Snow's relationship with Cora (and Regina) is an orange.

Regina wanted her dead out of anger but was ultimately thankful Hook didn't do the deed. Also that was before Regina knew Cora didn't have a heart. It's not excusing what Regina did but at least it was on her terms Snow played with Regina's deepest desire to have the love of her mother, she knew Regina wanted to just feel love from her mother and she received but a moment of that love before Snow's trickery ripped that away. I don't blame Regina for wanting to get revenge on Snow however I don't think that is the answer and hope she'll be able to see it's a never ending wheel of revenge.

Snow's actions came from despair and pain too. She felt guilty for all the lives that were lost because she didn't have the courage to put a stop to all evil.
Not to mention that Snow too regretted her action: if she came in 5 seconds earlier she would have prevented Cora's death. It took Snow a few minutes to realize that she didn't truly want Cora dead. It took Gina years to realize that she didn't want her mother dead.

It was a sacrifice, just as her father latter was. Just as Cora ripping her heart; in fact it's the same logic (love as weakness).
