I think she tries to use Michael's death to buy her fame again.
She always claimed she was the closest to Michael, and was raging when he left her nothing in his will.
If they were really that close:
1) Michael would have left her something &
2) She wouldn't have cared about material worth, she would have been more upset about losing her brother rather than gaining nothing from his death
So I believe too that there is a fakeness in La Toya's behaviour..
