“Hi Stel…”
“Hey… Sober?”
He felt how he blushed and looked on the floor.
“Yeah… Think so.”
“Do tu let me in?”
“Oh… Oh yes of course!”
He tried his best to avoid her gaze. He just didn’t want to see the pitying expression in her face.
“You know why I’m here…”
He nodded. Staring at the ground. She wanted to talk with him. Talk about his problems. Talk about the whiskey and probably about his cuts, too. In short talk about things he was shy for and he didn’t want to discuss.
“So… I think there are lots of things tu should explain… o at least try to explain.”
“What do tu expect? Do tu expect I say sorry and tell tu the thing with the whiskey was a mistake and I won’t do it again? I wish I could say that… It felt good… to be drunken. Totally drunken. tu know, when you’re drunken tu don’t feel pain. Especially this terrible pain in my chest disappears when I’m drunken. And my brain stops to work when I’m drunken. So I can’t think about Reed’s death. I can’t see this pictures again and again. And I can’t imagine how it could be if I wouldn’t have shot. That’s great tu know. tu feel pretty free and content then.” He hasn’t really thought about what he’s been saying. But now he realized what he’s conceded. Stella just looked at him. Stunned.

‘I feel free then.’ Free. Free. He wants to be free… Damn it, Mac! She felt her eyes fill with tears. No! She wouldn’t cry! Not here and not now. But no matter how hard she tried she couldn’t stop the tears that was making his way down her cheek.
“Mac… Please stop that… There are other ways to forget…”
XXXXXXXXXX
‘Maaaaaaaac! tu damned idiot!’
Suddenly he had the severe desire to hit himself!
‘Can’t tu just one time say something smart, if tu can’t, at least shut up?!’
“I… I didn’t want to…”
‘Congratulations idiot! tu made her cry!’
“I’m sorry Stel… I…”
‘Idiot. I-D-I-O-T. Idiot.’
Ohoh… Suddenly she got that look. Determined. Ready to attack.
‘Mac you’ll get a nice speech. Have fun!’
XXXXXXXXXX
“You are sorry?! Woah! Listen! The infallible Mac Taylor is sorry! Do tu really think that will help tu know? Now after tu made yourself totally drunk, after tu cut yourself, after tu hit on me?! No it won’t! Understand it Mac: You’ve got problems! Lots of problems!”
She couldn’t stop talking. And crying.
“You can tell me as often as tu want the alcohol helps tu and makes tu forget. Maybe that’s the truth but I won’t let tu bust yourself. tu need help. And I’ll help you!”
XXXXXXXXXX
He didn’t say anything. The first halfway smart reaction today. She was right. Every word was true.
“You’re right.”, he murmured.
‘?! Why did tu talk tu idiot?!’
“I’m right? Great! tu got it! And now let’s start repair you. Did tu eat breakfast?”
He hadn’t the power to tell her he didn’t want her help. Yes she was right but he did not want her help!
“No I didn’t.”
“Are tu hungry then?”
No he wasn’t. Since Reed’s death he didn’t eat very much.
“Yes… a little.”
He just couldn’t contradict her.
XXXXXXXXXX
This was too easy. Mac is stubborn. Always has been… She was sure he didn’t really want her help.
“Then let’s go eat breakfast somewhere…”
?! Why couldn’t she ask him if he was sure? It feels like she just hadn’t the power…

Everybody is talking about CSI: NY's Lindsay/Danny, but is there any thing about Stella/Mac? — Hilla
TIM: I'm going to pass this off to executive producer Peter Lenkov, who says the last four episodes of the season "are very heavy, Mac and Stella-wise. One will envolver, abrigo up the Greek coin smuggling ring (that Stella is heavily involved in) and the murders associated with that. Two episodes are very emotional stories that involve Mac, and in one of those we learn más about Mac's father." I really can't improve on that.
