I originally wrote this articulo and publicado it on the House M.D. spot, but decided to repost it here on the weekend before the "event". I hope tu enjoy it. Just remember this was written after "Joy".
I started watching House back when it premiered. I have watched most every episode since that time. It's always been one of my favorites, but lately I think I am plain obsessed.
Yes, it is mostly all about that kiss. I saw what I had overlooked for years, Cuddy + House = Huddy. What a fireball that whole thing is. Maybe it's because I have lived long enough to understand her, but I can't help but identify with her and him and their situations in life. She made a choice of career over family, whether conscience o not. She wouldn't be where she is at without being totally dedicated to her work. Now is the time she could have a personal life, but she finds roadblocks along the way. She has no baby, no man in her life, and all attempts at being "normal" seem to crumble around her. To parte superior, arriba it all off, tu see the pain in her eyes when she looks at House. He isn't what she needs, he isn't what she [i]should[i] want, but he is exactly, despite herself, what she does want.
He can objectify her, he can belittle her and tease her, yet tu see when he is looking at her that he respects her and he fears that she could be the thing to unravel him and bring to life what he has buried. He has always been like a Junior High boy around her before, but the kiss was honest, it wasn't about taunting her, it was about his feelings for her.
The scene when he goes to her house after she loses her chance of having the baby, that whole scene runs the gamet of emotions and the culmination is the kiss, but it just leaves me wondering when they will let down those walls again.
They are clearly friends with a past, with mutual respect, with a healthy amount of reality about who each other and who they are when they are together, and now a seething undercurrent that it isn't just flirtation, there is something more.
Since then, I watch each episode waiting for them to banter, to chide, to hold their glances a little longer than before, to deny, and deflect. Lisa finally reaches out and basically asks for another kiss, and Greg, unable to get a handle on what to do with her, falls back to his sophmorish groping of her.
It might not happen siguiente week, maybe not the siguiente episode after that, but the possibility that it will happen again has me waiting impatiently for my siguiente "fix".
