Take a gay club add a bunch of zombies and what do tu get? This refreshing take on the zombie apocalypse myth. Gone are the stereotypical collection of survivors that we normally get in these stories. There's no ex-military muscle bound hero that saves the día with the big guns. The characters here are just regular people, scared and clueless as to what's happening, relying on each other despite their desperate situation. It always makes the story better when tu care about what happens to the survivors and that is sometimes forgotten in libros of this type. Of course there's still the requisite amount of guts and gore with plenty of violence and the pace of the story never slackens as we hurtle towards the ending which happens to be both upbeat and upsetting at the same time.
This is an excellent little novella filled with characters tu don't get to read about too often and certainly not ever as the heroes of the piece. There is also a slight commentary on the treatment and assessment of gay in society and the depiction of gays in fiction. This doesn't subtract from the novella at all, in fact it enriches it, giving tu an extra dimension to consider.
I will definitely be getting más stories from this author.

For anyone who knows the work of autor Edward Lee, tu probably know the high quality of his escritura and also the sort of horror topics he covers. There's nothing here to disappoint his fans. For those of tu who haven't read any of Mr Lee's other work well... let's just say tu got a big shock coming to you.

Let me be honest, the short stories available in this collection are most definitely not for the weak of stomach of faint of heart. In fact out of all the short horror fiction I have read, some of the stories contained within this collection are some of the most disturbing I have ever...

This is an excellent book. The autor manages to weave numerous characters, scenarios and themes together seamlessly. If tu like vampires, hombres lobo o zombies o just like a good 'end of the world' yarn then you'll find something here to enjoy. The story is subtly underpinned por a religious tone that while being moralistic stays clear of being too preachy as to put the reader off. Add to that moments of sparkling wit and pitch black humour tu have yourself a very entertaining and intelligent novel where the twists and turns in the plot flow as freely as the buckets of gore.A brilliant horror novel. Enjoy. Thank tu for reading.

On July 1991 Jeffrey Dahmer the notorious cannibalistic serial killer was captured por police.
On November 28, 1994 Dahmer was beaten to death por another inmate...Or was he?
What if Jeff didn't really die that day. What if it was all a elaborate hoax? What if Dahmer found a way to escape jail por faking his own death?
These 'what-if's' are the basis for this taut gripping story. Part horror. Part conspiracy theory. Part police procedural. This story is all the más terrifying for the amazing amount of detail and believability that is imbued on every page.

Detective Helen Closs is a highly successful...

An inventive, enjoyable and surprisingly heart-warming take on the serial killer thriller.

Charlie is a quiet man. He keeps himself to himself at work, vistas the world through highly practical eyes, is meticulous to a fault and incredible thrifty. He avoids any kind of personal contact with people and cares not a jot about anybody's feelings, desires, ideas o personalities. He is also a very successful serial killer. Keeping his killings to a strict schedule, he allows himself to hunt for a new victim once every two months and always aims for victims which he considers low risk i.e junkies...

An apocolyptic novel where a bunch of people are left on an island filled with the walking dead, each is dado a weapon and told only one must survive, all for the tele-visual entertainment of the fat and rich.A blisteringly brilliant novel from Carlton Mellick III that is hugely enjoyable with buckets of gore and violence, socio-political ideology and even the inclusion of a robotic Mr T. The zombies are más of the shuffling Romero kind but none the less deadly as the contestants die off in ever más gruesome and darkly funny ways, we begin to wonder if anyone will survive. Brilliant and hilarious.

After following the Horror Society on Twitter for a while, I was very excited to read this book. The people in the society know their stuff and with this book no gut is left un-churned, no twist denied and no moral ground left intact.
Included are eleven short stories:
LOAF DIVINE por Canaan Frank: A hotel seeks out the twisted secrets that lie within the past and conscience of a man
DEAD RINGERS por David Blackthorn: College students have an eventful night sleeping amongst the graves of plague victims
A VAMPIRE WALKS INTO A BAR por Aaron rayo, ray Ballard: A bar that plays host to many unnatural beasts...

The best thing about this short story collection is it's brazenness. It is violently visceral book staining with gore and bulging with pure nastiness. In short it's a book that any real literary horror fan should relish.
The stories include:
HEIRLOOM por Michael Laimo: An inherited rifle holds terrible memories and depraved secrets for a seriously demented killer.
VIOLENCE FOR FUN AND PROFIT por Gregory L.Norris: Vengeance becomes political manifesto in this warped view of post-Bush America.
AMPUTATIONS IN THE KEY OF D por Jack Maddox: A rock estrella goes for a routine wart removal and ends up losing...
