Honestly, the ending of the final book surprised me. Only because in the newspaper one week before the last book was released, JK said in an interview that she was ending the series in such a way that no one would ever be able to carry it on. My guess was that Harry would be killed off and the whole of the magic existence (Hogwarts, all the other schools, and all the magical beings) would cease to exist somehow.
Instead, she ended it in a way that gave fanfic writers some great opportunities!
I also wouldn't mind sitting in the Great Hall. That'd be cool. 8)
