It would be distracting. Maybe being able to choose a different color scheme, but not a whole background.

I like how the different clubs all look the same, but with different banners/icons/content. It keeps the site looking more uniform, which gives it a more professional feel.

I like the colour scheme and that there is a is something that likes all of the different spots together seeing as they range to such different topics! I think that the banners and icons make each spot unique.

the trouble with wallpapers and ackgrouns is they are often coded wrong when done by people and it messes up the layout plus it slows down the page majorly

I think a white backgrouns with the content standing out looks better and cleaner and just easier on the eye

And then you have the boneheads who put up animated backgrounds, because they've apparently only been on the internet for a week and never saw the memo that those are the universal sign of n00b and extremely annoying, to boot. XD

i kind of like how they all look similar like astroasis said it gives it a professional feel i like it the way it is otherwise like said above it would be too distracting

^^^ I agree with pretty much everyone above. I like that the site looks clean, and isn't hyper customised. That's the way that Myspace for one, got ruined.
