I See no point.

I know you can "fan" pictures and articles...but it would be nice if you could do the same for answers, picks, quiz questions...etc..

This isn't Tumblr.

are people to lazy now days to simple say nice pick or great quiz they need a like button?

I think it would be a good idea. However, it should be a 'fan' button, like with the images and links. Otherwise it would be too much like Facebook. Sometimes somebody makes a good pick or quiz or asks a really smart question. It would be convenient to be able to show your approval by a simple mouseclick.

No, they should add the option to 'become a fan of' a comment. But, instead of changing it for the better, they waste their time ruining banners. *sigh...*

I'm not sure how this would work. Would people like/fan an interesting poll or a question which made them think? Or would they simply like anything which showed that the person asking it agreed with their opinion? I think there'd be too much of a risk of biased polls and questions like "isn't this character/person awesome" becoming really popular.
