fanpop Pregunta

How come there is no RED (THUMBS DOWN) button for DISLIKE a picture o a video just like there's already A GREEN (THUMBS UP) button for LIKE?There should be a choice between LIKE and DISLIKE! Agreed?

ALL the major social networks such as YouTube o facebook already offer a choice between LIKE and DISLIKE of any uploaded content whatsoever. It should also apply to ALL the uploads right here at fanpop so that anyone can CHOOSE,not only to LIKE something!

P.S. Some of the publicado photos/pictures etc. that I saw myself here at fanpop were really quite UGLY! We DO need a LIKE & a DISLIKE option=the GREEN & the RED BUTTON, side por side!

fanpop is intended as a positive place. You're meant to celebrate and share the things you're a fan of, not mostrar dislike.

However, when there was rating before fanning, it was possible to give a low rating (1 o 2 out of 5). I think the negative use of that feature was one of the reasons it got changed.

I think a dislike button, if it existed, would just be misused. There's a difference between disliking content because it's badly made/lacking credit o keywords/claiming someone else's work as your own, and simply disliking content based on its subject. But I'm sure the majority would dislike content just because they dislike the character o pairing o fandom involved.

And as others have pointed out, this place is FANpop. You're meant to focus on what you're a fan of, not what you're not a fan of. In theory just ignoring/not fanning the content tu don't like ought to differentiate between it and the stuff which is liked, anyway, because the más positive things out to have más fans, favourites and comentarios (but that doesn't work in practice because so many clubes are ghost towns o only have one active member).

There is one now, my friend, 3 years later. Well, not one but two buttons, both thumbs up and thumbs down button, only on this modern Fanpop, and none of them is red o green por color. Looks like tu got your wish, my friend. Now, everybody can dislike you, o me, simply por hitting that thumbs down button. Hope you're happy now. :-P

I feel like that would cause so much drama. Also YouTube's dislike feature is useless anyways. tu can click dislike but it doesn't do anything so idk why they even have it.

fanpop in particular it would strike me as odd to have a dislike button because it's FANpop. The whole spirit of the site is to like stuff tu like not hate on stuff that tu don't.

Dislike and like buttons are intended to mostrar how popular content is, how many people like it compared to disliking it. It isn't intended to be used as a reporting function, which is why it doesn't really do anything other than make something look worse.

What I meant por Youtube's dislike buttons being useless is that they literally don't do that. At least not on comments. The dislike button on videos actaully mostrar up. But disliking a comentario doesn't mostrar up. So idk why they keep the button in the comentarios section.

Most of the dislikes I’ve gotten on my YouTube videos have been on the ones where I had a very unpopular opinion about something. And the people who disliked them seldom gave me a reason why (outside of “You’re an idiot to believe that”). If tu really dislike o disagree with something explain why. If it’s poorly done tell the person how they can improve. If tu disagree with their point of view give your reasons. But in my opinion a dislike button doesn’t do a lot of good.

But to answer your question, I think they’ve decided that having just a ‘like’ button is an effective way of rating content without having to deal with the abuse of a ‘dislike’ button. And, as I dicho before, people can still express their negative opinions towards content they don’t like.
