I think that most or all of my stories had an OC or two in there but I made them the good guys and well-liked without being very 'Mary Sue' about them.

Also, in the fandoms I am in, there are so very few OC fanfics that I read that my favorite character in the fandom is in and most of them were really good! :)

Some OC's are Mary-Sues so that's why I only like it if it's well made. Sometimes I can tolerate it if it's a good plot too.

yes it is fun reading them anykind but expsy if the auther's doesn't tall us how they look then I can choose how there look!:D

I like reading stories with OC cause it gives the readers a fun chance to see what they're like with the real characters on the same page. I can't understand why haters would flame them and called them Mary-Sues for. It's so ridiculous!

I only like writing stories about OC's, I know it sounds kinda lame but oh welllllll!

It depends on the OC.If they're really fun and have a great personality and don't ruin the story then I like them.But if they're just plain annoying and awfully made then I hate them.

It's fun for the writer, yet can frustrate the reader.

I like writng with them more than reading about them.

any1 can copy the life and personality of a character already made...the talent comes in when YOU make your own story and characters...i did xD

Only if they are well made and go well with the story/fandom. Though most OCs to me feel like they just take up unnecessary space and would just like to see them get killed off.

It depends on the couple and how well the story is written. But I love writing them. I am picky about which ones I read though. I usually go to quizilla to read and post.

Allot of them tend to be annoying. The author tends to write them in such an attention-seeking way that the other characters are the backround characters.
Things like giving the oc special hair and eye colors and giving them all the dialogue while the other characters spend all their words on asking her questions or complimenting her.

I really havn't the patience for such things.

I hate when this happens. Normally I avoid stories with OC's completely though, because I have this thing called 'Don't like it don't read it and definitely don't stick around to flame'.

While far too many OCs are mundane or retreads of other OCs, I have seen some which serve well the purpose of enhancing a fanfic, and have seen a rare few which are even worthy of being canon. So much depends on the talent of an author.

As long as the author doesn't make them into a Mary Sue/Marty Stu, and it's a believable character I can get a connection with, I love OC's! It shows how creative some people can be into making a non-existing character come to live.

Honestly, I really don't most are sues.

I don't mind reading stories that introduce characters made by the author, but I typically don't read any with OC's because I typically get confused and I feel as though they take away from the plot at times. However, if the character isn't meant to be a love interest for anyone and is well-made, I MAY consider reading it. It just depends.

I seem to have this weird luck in avoiding the really Mary Sue OC fanfictions. So for me, OCs are fine, but I've heard that there are many horrendous ones out there which I've escaped.

If they're not Mary Sues, and (in the case of an OC love interest) if the canon character doesn't already have a canon love interest whom I like.
