doctor who Pregunta

Different face - different personality...?

I have to admit, I haven't seen all Doctor who episodes, but I've seen episodes with all three Doctrors...
So I have a question, perhaps más faithfull fans will tell me - when Doctor changes face, he stays totally same parson, but with diffenert looks. So why I have a feeling it's not the same Doctor at all? Ex. the 9th was Rose's best friend, but when he became 10th, he imediately fell for her.
But let's say that's ok... But when he bacame 11th, suddenly we get Amy, some flashbacks (although she was never mentioned before) and out of the blue in a very short time he loves her...What the heck? Is it the same Doctor (as it should be) o three different doctors? Every one seems to be a bigger womanizer ;)

Whoa, whoa, whoa, SLOW DOWN lol.

Now I'm not a Doctor Who expert. I haven't seen all the old episodes o gotten to know every Doctor, and I don't know all the technicalities of regeneration, but here's what I think.

First of all, they all ARE the same Doctor, only with varying personalities. The soul, o the core of him - the constant, indescribable, irreplaceable "thing" that makes him THE Doctor - is still there. But with each regeneration, everything else changes. And when every cell in your body is changing and renewing and regrowing, including the ones in your brain, it only makes sense that your personality and the way your mind works would change, too.

Secondly, I really don't think the Doctor's in amor with Amy. (And no, I'm not just saying that because I'm an Amy/Rory shipper.) =P He obviously cares for her a lot, but it has más of a close friend/mentor/guide sort of vibe to me. It's possible he may feel some attraction to her; I won't deny that. But it's obvious he doesn't want to start anything with her o complicate their relationship, and that "I am 907 years older than tu and this will never work!"

And seeing as how they've gone back to all the retro, classic Who stuff, and that most of the past "Doctors" had más uncle/niece/brother/sister/best friend types of relationships with their companions, it makes sense to me that they'd hold off on the Amy/11 romance. He's already had a big, epic, tragic amor affair with Rose, and a one-sided thing with Martha; starting another one so soon would just...not be smart. (And it really WOULD make him look like a womanizer.) xD

I totally get what tu mean, though. It seems every single "New Who" hasn't managed to get por without being snogged por a bunch of females, lol.

He IS a completely different person - when he regenerates he not only gets a new face, he gets a new personality. The only thing that makes him the same person is the fact that he has all the same memories. Everything else is different.

OMG yeah.....but the transition 9 to 10 wasent a big diffrence, characters stayed the same, they where still talking about the same stuff. but when matt smith came EVERYTHING changed (well i guess except the tadis XP) new people, new faces, new doctor :( .....he doesnt even mentioned his past companions. i hate that they did that.....it makes me feel like its a diffrent mostrar o just a whole new doctor. am i the only one that feels this way? i mean, i get that he changed and that he needs a new personality, but they changed everything with it.
