I think this moral is generally overplayed.

You should not "be yourself" if you are a serial killer.

This is very loosely "applied."

I've seen it a lot of times in many movies, and it's kind of too vague, you shouldn't always "be yourself", if your "true self's" attitude hurts other people.

A lot of people should not be themselves, sorry. Also I feel like "Hey, I'm just being myself!" is used to defend or justify a lot of crappy behavior.

and yes, exactly what UN said. But the same can be said of TLM's message I think. there's more to life than happiness and dreams, and some people have absolutely terribly dreams or put them above what really matters like love and family and compassion.
