In The Return: Shadow Souls, what do tu think Elena's dream means?

When Elena and Damon arrive at the hotel, she has a bath, falls asleep and has this weird dream.
This is the extract from the book:

In her dream, she was moving briskly. It was only half-light, but she could tell somehow that she was
skimming downward through deep gray mist. What worried her was that she seemed to be surrounded
por arguing voices, and they were arguing about her.
“A segundo chance? I’ve spoken to her about it.”
“She won’t remember anything.”
“It doesn't matter whether she remembers. Everything will remain inside her, if unawakened.”
“It will germinate inside her…until the time is right.”
Elena had no idea what any of it meant.

So, what do tu think it means? Oh, and when they come back from the Dark Dimension, Shinichi dicho something about one of them having their memories erased. Do tu think he was talking about Elena?
