I think that eventually we will be able to explain everything with science.

Everything can be scientifically explained but we're probably never going to be smart enough to understand or work out half of it!

I mean for me, i think about hundreds or thousands of years ago when people thought earth quakes where the result of angry gods - when people thought the world must be flat and we could fall off the edge - no one could comprehend anything else because they didn't think it could be anything else - now we know better.

Some people believe in science as a complete world view, which makes it essentially another religion. Since science is a method of observing phenomena and then interpreting those data, it's clear (to me) that science's ability to offer "explanations" for things is limited to observable phenomena(*). So the question presupposes at least one of three ideas:

1) Can everything observable be explained in terms of scientific phenomena with predictable cause and effect?

and/or

2) Will it ever be possible to observe everything in a scientific manner?

and/or

3) Could there ever be a theory to correspond with every phenomenon?

To answer the question "Do you think that it is possible to explain everything scientifically?" you must consider at least one of these three questions. You may have to answer "yes" to all of them in order to believe in a scientific explanation for everything. They are all philosophical questions, which effectively come down to belief. It's a particularly important philosophical question, particularly with any contemporary discussion of religion, because so many people see science as separate (or even opposed!) to religion, when many of the people who think that way are actually treating science as a religion.

* - by "explanations", I mean scientific hypotheses or theories... that is, based on experimental evidence.

I live entirely on science. Everything I know is scientific. It has complete proof, and it is all confirmed fact. Not to say that I am against religion- everyone should be able to choose what they believe in.

We will never be actually able to explain it all by science because there will always be new questions. But the fact that we don't have some answers just yet by science doesn't mean that god has something to do with it. It just means that we have to keep on trying to find the answer.
Everything can be ultimately explained by science, and there's where we're heading to, but we won't actually explain them all because questions are infinite and there will always be new questions.

So, let me see if I understand your position. Are you saying that the answer to any given question can be arrived at through scientific inquiry? Or are you coming up with a different meaning for "scientifically"?

Totally against religion. Wanted to come to this spot to study your behavior. I was going to do anal probing, but this is a little less invasive.

Being against religion does not mean that everything can be explained by science. The position that everything can be explained by scientific inquiry might even be a pretty religious point of view, since it requires a strong personal belief in science.

Edit: It's interesting how many people responding to this question bring the concept of a deity (or a response to such a concept) into their answers, when nothing other than science is actually being discussed. The question is not "Does science provide better answers to everything than belief in a deity?" nor is it "Does science provide better answers to everything than other belief systems?" The question is "Do you think that it is possible to explain everything scientifically?" In answering that question, imagine that you'd never heard of other belief systems. Just consider your concept of science and your grasp of the scientific method.

Not everything can be explained by science because scientists are always contradicting themselves shoot any scientific fact that they have used and i can disprove it. if you have any questions feel free to ask

No not everything can be expalained scientifically, some thing are understood spiritually which goes beyond science and into the world of the soul, and the spirit which can involve complete faith in God try and get some fool to measure and analyse that you'd just end up looking stupid.

The physical world is another matter, yes everything can be explained there within human limits.

Maybe when someone (something) finds out how everything works the universe gets destroyed and a new one's created and everything starts all over again.

I think there's a possibility that it can't but for the most part, yes. Just because we haven't found all of the answers yet doesn't mean they're not there. Humans aren't as advanced as society likes to make us out to be... We still have a long way to go and an infinite amount of things left to discover.
