First off, I'm a solid JEYTON FAN! brucas FAN! P. SAWYER FAN! (she's not a backstabbing w***...she's just confused.)

Now why should brucas fans be interested on Peyton's view, let alone her feelings? (since most BL fans hate her and I still can't understand why.) It'd be interesting if this speculation of mine is true and Peyton realizes it (the girl has late epiphanies) and then maybe she will go look for Jake (whom I strongly believed she never stopped loving and loved GREATER than Lucas) and Brucas...well...YAY! They'd be back on the road again. So..read this:

SEASON 5: Brooke Davis still has feelings for Lucas Scott even when he is now "in a relationship that has been going on as an affair behind Brooke twice" with her best friend Peyton Sawyer. It was one of the hurtful things she did, giving up the man she loves for the happiness of a best friend she had since childhood. Lucas and Peyton may have this so-called "soul mates" thing going on but there's an undeniable chemistry between Lucas and Brooke. Plus they're not as self-destructive and whimsical as Lucas and Peyton once they start being a couple (they're just full of crap sometimes) During this season, Lucas and Peyton are mending trust between them which brings Brooke closer to Lucas especially when she needs him for support because of Angie, Brooke's adopted daughter who has a corazón condition. Lucas might realize that maybe the thing he has with Peyton isn't as convenient and deep as he believed it to be because as far as the story goes, it's obvious he only settled for her because Brooke couldn't be with someone her best friend has feelings for. Truth for the matter: Lucas pursued Brooke and confessed that he's the guy for her. Peyton happened (twice) and so their relationship got cut off. But there's no evident closure for them just yet and now that they're both working adults, they might just get back together...if only Peyton, the best friend, would just step away and give them a chance...just like Brooke did for her (and not go "wait" until Lucas and Brooke are over so she could have her turn.)

I'm not saying Lucas would stop loving Peyton. Anyone who watches One árbol colina religiously knows that Lucas cannot amor one and not the other. He loved both girls (and he's an culo for that) but even though Peyton was his inspiration and his muse for his novel and "the one I want standing siguiente to me when my dreams come true," let's face it: Lucas only wants Peyton when he doesn't have anybody else..especially when he doesn't have Brooke. Hey, I amor Peyton Sawyer. She's my favorito! character (seriously!) but brucas belong together. And what Lucas and Peyton have is self-destructive. They hurt Brooke just to be together and that is selfish and desperate so I never bought their whole "soul mates" thing (like I said, they're full of crap as far as pairings go) And Peyton deserves Jake not Lucas. Lucas is an asshole and a greater one at that whenever he's stuck with Peyton. He was likable when he's with Brooke because he takes care of her and as far as two different worlds clashing at one point, Brooke and Lucas had a great thing going on for as long as the OTH "perfect couple" Nathan and Haley has.

In Defense with P. Sawyer:

I don't like (actually, I loathe) brucas fans who hate Peyton Sawyer. She's my favorito! and okay, everyone is entitled to their opinions but to bad-mouth her just because of the whole brucas break-up thing? Come on! That's not the major defining moment for her. It's the same as those who hate Haley and call her "unfaithful" just because she chose música over Nathan in Season 2 and still couldn't let the whole thing go despite that Haley evolved. Okay, the whole Peyton breaking up brucas is her low-point and it made her look like an idiot but Peyton is like Brooke: a damaged, insecure girl. If tu need to blame someone, blame Lucas!

NOW MY QUESTION:

Look, Peyton was the happiest with Jake and Brooke was the happiest with Lucas. And I think Peyton is still in amor with Jake and Lucas was the back-up (which is dumb but can't blame Peyton, she's damaged with all the people-always-leave thing) and Lucas "settled" for Peyton because he can't have Brooke. And besides, I'm working an interesting angle here...could it be that the reason why Peyton can't say "yes" to Lucas with the marriage proposal thing is because she is still waiting for Jake? I mean, come on..she asked Jake to marry her and Lucas did the same thing to her...she must've freaked out because she still holds Jake...and little Jenny in her heart.

***Yes, I am a BRUCAS fan (but I can be open-minded and see the Leytons' side of the argument.) Most of all, I'm a BREYTON fan. And Lucas sucks because of how he almost ruined their friendship. Yes, Lucas Hater, that I am. But why do I want an culo to end up with Brooke? Because Brooke actually changed him and made him really romantic that for a while during season 3, he was actually tolerable.

sophialover 1)I agree with you in most of what you've said. Look..the whole thing is really complicated. Most of the fans, put the blame on Peyton cause she was THE FIRST who betrayed her relationship with Brooke. I'm really anti-breyton (and anti - peyton) only because i think SHE ruined the relationship. And she did. She was confused? Well, i'm sorry..that's not an excuse. She was driving us crazy with the whole "i want Lucas..", "no i don't want Lucas, i love you Brooke" thing. I MEAN..C'MON.."PEYTON CAN U MAKE UP YOUR MIND, DAMN IT?". She's just too weird... Also..can we say that Breyton is a true friendship? Breyton friendship is such a "hollywood drama", that it's killing me most of the times. I can't stand the lies, the cheating and the hurt between them. (sorry, it's just an opinion - but i disagree only in this with y'a) 2)LUCAS IS AN A**! I truly believe that most of us agree in this. But as you said...only Brooke could make him really happy. Only with Brooke we saw the other side (probably "the bright side") of Lucas Scott. And that is one of the 1.000.000 reasons why he belongs with Brooke. 3)I actually LIKED Peyton...ONLY...AND ONLY...She was with Jake. All she needs is a sweet caring guy who will never leave her. I totally agree with what you mentioned about why she didn't say "yes" when Lucas proposed to her. It's not only cause she was confused (as always), but because she is prob still waiting for Jake. One thing's for sure..! JAKE IS THE ONE FOR HER AND LUCAS IS THE ONE FOR BROOKE. Leyton is a pathetic passion and anything more than that..

eka-chan I appreciate the view, thanks! And I believed Peyton is an idiot most of the time. When I like a character and make that character a favorite, I like to explore more of the dark and the flaws and Peyton has a lot and I don't defend her for them. Besides, she was an idiot when she broke Brucas up but the writers (let's not forget) might be the ones guilty here. It is mentioned that Chopia divorce influenced OTH storyline and I think LEYTON is "a product of damage control." When they got together at Season 4, I was like "WTF??!! I never saw that coming!" And Peyton is so much better off with Jake. You're right, she needs someone caring. I think Lucas and Peyton are both so whimsical and lonely that they need somebody picking up their s**t the whole time and Brooke and Jake can fix them...and adore them...and love them. Just as Haley did for Nathan. And there really is a real love and a real history with Brucas. Leyton scared the hell out of me. But now I try to appreciate them. But dang, they just couldn't work it out! It seemed forced to me most of the time.

brucas4ever it's not that i hate peyton.. she was actually my favorite in season 1... i don't like what she did to brooke.. not once but twice.. i don't like how she's the character who everything has to wrong with it annoys me... i have liked her the second half of season five... but i agree with you^^.. i don't really hate peyton... but i don't like her... as for her a jake... i love them they were like my second favorite couple(bl being the first)..i didn't lp relationship coming either.

BrucasLove1990 I honestly can say I loved Peyton - right from the beginning up until end of Season 3, she was my second favorite character tied with Lucas. But... One betrayal is wrong, but can be mended with effort. But two was unforgivable, in my opinion. Although, Brooke did forgive her in the end, which made me love Brooke even more (my favorite char. throughout). Season for I either didn't like her, or was indifferent, as Leyton was a poorly planned storyline - sort of like 'Oh no, Chad&Sophia got divorced, lets plonk these two together because they had some sort of past'. Acting was good, largely down to Chad&Hill being brilliant actors, but the chemistry, relative to Chophia's was practically non-existent. Brucas, for me, is like an epic love story, and if they can get past the obstacles in their way, it'll be perfect. Jeyton, I loved too - they were HOT together, plus looked really in love - He and Hill had great chemistry (plus the sex scene was WOAHH) :) (By the way, i like Peyton again now, but she really needs to stop being miserable, and cheer up :D plus Jake comes back -- Woop! )

susannah I Luv Brucas have been a fan since the begin and always will be want them 2 be together and stay together and peyton 2 find jake they r a nice couple together so put brucas back in season 6 and keep them together xx

eka-chan Peyton's evolution throughout the seasons is the most complex thing in OTH. The reason why she is my most favorite character is because she's undeniably a person meant for greatness. The problem with her is she can't seem to figure out her emotional needs once it's too late and end up backing herself into a truck-load of defeat and shame. I think she's the girl who's always in the misery business. But she deserves to be loved and be taken care of. I mean Season 1 showcased her as the tortured artist, someone who believes music can change the world. Her idealism is very touching, although most people in the real world will probably laugh at her (in season 5 we saw that with her big-time boss.) Then Season 2 with her being just friends with Lucas, fixing things with Brooke then trying to be with Jake...she was evolving to somebody who wasn't scared to care for someone deeply. Then Season 3: my most favorite moment for her: she had a good thing with Lucas. Now I agree: THEY'RE MORE TAN FRIENDS...BUT NEVER LOVERS!!! Their "LOVE" is "PLATONIC." And I liked Peyton's courage with Ellie and then at Season 4 with Psycho Derek (with Brooke's help of course so Breyton is a real friendship to me.) Before I used to hate P. Sawyer when I have never watched seasons 1-4 completely because I don't own a DVD copy yet. Then finally I did and I never blamed Peyton for the BRUCAS breaking up thing. Like we said, maybe the writers are to blame because of Chopia divorce. Brooke has a big heart; she's optimist and I like her evolution as well just as Haley's. Peyton's is bumpy and cruel and very flawed but she is fascinating for it and people accusing her as a backstabbing whore (sadly, some BL fans hold to that notion) forget that she was a great character and maybe she will be the one to realize that Lucas isn't true love always for her.

sophialover Agreed... however, Peyton was her best friend in the world. If she was just some random girl, sure. But as a best friend, she betrayed Brooke a hell of a lot more than the boyfriend who she'd dated for a couple months. Because Peyton always has to have the whole world revolve around her. And Lucas has to revolve his whole life and priorites around her. Even when Brooke was his girlfriend. "i love you lucas" - "oh" HAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAH explains their whole relationship doesn't it? =D. I don't hate her only because she betrayed Brooke but also cause in my opinion she is a Brooke wanna be, who has to learn how to smile, and learn that not everything is about her! THERE'S NOT ANYTHING SO SPECIAL ABOUT HER and i really can't undesrand the people who like her "character". I mean...she always HAS TO ACT LIKE SHE IS THE FREAKING VICTIM!! I hate the whole "drama queen style" and i believe that even if she didn't do all the things that she did to Brooke, she would STILL be my least favourite character on the show. They should just kill off Peyton and do us all a favour. I liked Jeyton but the writers ruined that by making her choose Lucas over Jake so she deserves to suffer for that. LOL! Ok..this is just an opinion..LPers who are reading this PLEASE DON'T FREAK OUT. (i'm so cruel eh? I'm sorry..when it comes to Peyton...i can't help it...) eka-chan I wasn't the slightest offended with your views on Peyton. Like I said, I know her flaws and I won't dignify them. Yes, she believes she is the center of her world and she does want to always appear like a victim. What she lacks is the power to control her emotions when they bring the worst out of her hence she deliberately sabotaged her friendship with Brooke. I agree with your opinion of Jeyton. Peyton was growing emotionally with Jake and she could have been better off with him anyway and when she did go behind Brooke's back, it was a defensive, selfish move that she did twice. Even as her biggest fan (I always will be,) she had unconsciously or even unintentionally hurt Brooke when she confessed her feelings. Brooke said, "And you could have buried it and not say anything so what is that about?" which I totally agree with and Peyton answered that she wants to be honest. Now I think, this is coming from a pro-Peyton, that she's desperate because things with Jake didn't work out and since Lucas is always there, she took advantage of that. Oh sure, she wouldn't pursue him...yet. She said that she will not do anything UNLESS Brucas is over. But that is a selfish move..again. Like, she is "Waiting for her turn?" It's the same as she's secretly wishing Brucas would fail. Now I hold my ground on being a Peyton Sawyer fan simply because her lack of self-awareness when it comes to hurting other people is fascinating and she's one of the best dark, angst-ridden character I've ever known. She's damaged. Really, really bad that she has to forever compensate for it. I don't blame if you despise her. Truth for the matter, she's almost somehow incapable of being truly happy most of the time. She reminds me of Ally Mcbeal, another famous character who believed that "the reason why my problems are more important than another people is because they're MINE!" As for Breyton, I still owe it to them to be loyal. No friendship is pefect: the best kind is the one tested with deception and still remained. I have a best friend like Brooke and I was Peyton on her (no! NOT THE STEALING THE BOYFRIEND PEYTON) but more of the "I'm so angsty that sometimes I can hurt you but I still love you" Peyton to Brooke. And Breyton worked out. It still does.

eka-chan In addition to what I said (sorry for the long comments) Peyton is exceptional. It's both in a good and a bad way. She's an idealist, a dreamer trapped in abstract beliefs. She is the lead female in the series and her story and experiences reflect that, to my opinion, she's an INDIVIDUALIST. She may fail as a human being with her social relationships, but she's great as an artist and she should focus on that.

sophialover I know..i like the way you support her cause you're not like all the blind LPers. I just say that simply she is too "dark" FOR MY taste...lol. I don't know..! Generally i tend to support more happy and funny people...(like Brooke) who is totally the opposite pf a brainless slut...(what the LPers believe). I just like them more. Peyton for me..is not UNIQUE. She is just weird. Most of the times she is unsure about her true feelings...she is confused...she is trapped...whatever! The reason i don't like her is because i don't really like these kind of people. They usually get on my nerves. Ofcource, i can understand that some others find the whole "drama" thing exceptional and brilliant...but i don't. She reminds me of the song "beautiful disaster" lol..(but she is not even beautiful.) Anyway, i truly believe that it depends on the way we are attracted by the other characters. Or better.."we are usually attracted to the people we are". i might find NOTHING great at all about P.Sand another person might say "No she has been through a lot..she is a brave angel...blablabla..." One thing's true! With Jake she was totally an another person. They have not only chemistry...but also MAGIC for me. I'm not saying only cause i'm a reallydie hard BRUCAS fan, but because i BELIEVE IN their love. I really believe that only with Jake she will be happy...and only with Jake WAS HAPPY. I love them together...(L)!

eka-chan Oh god yes! Jake Jaglieski brought out this beauty and passion in her that is not only sincere but deeply moving. Peyton was wonderful to Jenny, just wonderful! And she had a lot going for her if she at least try to do things that would make her happy. Problem with her, she has the Marissa Cooper (from The OC) compulsion to always act out her anger in many wrong ways. I don't know why some LPers I have met (not here but some forum in the web) think Jeyton was a one-time thing but we have seen how much Peyton change for the best because of the feelings she had for him and how he never forced her out or freak her out (as Lucas did many times) and just patiently won her in the end. It was beautiful. JEYTON should make a comeback. Seriously. And as far as Brucas is concerned, they may have to also overcome Lindsay. Now Lindsay is a great gal but she's neither Peyton or Brooke, two girls who will always have a place in Lucas' heart. I really wish Brucas will be revived since I think Chopia are in cool terms now and Season 5 with Angie was amazing for Brucas. It's sort of like the whole Jenny-Peyton-Jake thing as well. Brooke as the "brainless slut?" Well, I like Brooke so much as much as I like Haley. They come second to Peyton but Brooke is a spectacular person with a kind heart. Her evolution is far more promising than Peyton's throughout the four seasons. Her friendship with Rachel always made me feel like maybe Brooke also needs a friend who has the same personality as she does. Brooke is charming and compassionate. She's funny and wicked and she knows how to teach people to have a good time. She's happy even when she's not and even if it's deceptive, at least she doesn't need anyone to cheer herself up. I admire girls like her. Like my best friend, she just goes shopping or clubbing when depressed. Well, that's a good thing too. If you surround yourself with people, you're less likely to beat yourself some more like Peyton does, locking herself in her room (I do that, lol :P)

broody4cheery its nice to meet another BLer who is a peyton fan. I have a love hate relationship with her, she was originally my fave character, prob because she reminded me of myself with the whole tortured artist thing but my love for her has lessened over the years while my love for teh other characters have grown, now i must say Brooke is by far my favourite though i still like peyton (even though she often pisses me the f*** off) i just can't stand leyton. I'm a HUGE brucas and jeyton fan. i think that Brooke is the character who has evolved the most while Peyton seems to only regress and make sthe same mistakes over and over again. she was such a great person with jake, he brought out the best in her, made her strong. With Lucas there's this he's always saving her thing but with Jake she was independent and strong and helped him. I stand firmly by that she only had her 'i love lucas' epiphany because she had lost Jake. From the beginning she had her 'people always leave' complex and Jake left her aswell, so why wouldn't she turn to the one stable person who doesn't leave, whose there for anyone who needs him. and with your she didn't say yes to lucas' proposal cause she's waiting for jake (def subconciously)angle, i agree, here's another twist to that angle, how did peyton respond to lucas' proposal? "someday" i think more than a mere coincidence this was the same word used with jeyton in season 3. hopefully someday is soon (for jeyton i mean).

Well, I still adore Peyton Sawyer and I think that never faded even if she did countless crap. I think that's part of the reason I love her so much. Brooke and Haley are great for me too but there's something tragic about P.S, a sadness I can relate to. But I really much prefer her with Jake because at least she smiled more and grew emotionally with him. The one thing that I agree on is that its very difficult for Lucas to love one without the loving the other...but I sincerely feel that Lucas's love for Peyton is a different kind of love from his love for Brooke. I will admit that Brooke has evolved as a person throughout the six seasons, but season one still holds for me. [Lucas tells Nikki that he had an intense emotional connection with one...and that the other was all about fun]. I believe that Brooke brings out parts of Lucas that he likes, but that Peyton lets him hold on to who he is. At some points, you're right. Leyton is self-destructive. I think though, that this comes from external influences rather than them not belonging together. The point I CANNOT AGREE WITH is that Lucas only wants Peyton when he cannot have Brooke. You have it wrong. It's so much easier to understand that Lucas only wants Brooke when he cannot have Peyton. From the very beginning, Lucas has loved Peyton. Nothing has ever changed. [He is simply always hiding with Brooke, as he admitted to Peyton in season one]. I feel that Lucas only wants Brooke when he cannot have Peyton for many reasons... 1. Lucas showed no interest in Brooke until Peyton asked him if it was ok to be just friends. [season one].[Lucas had wanted Peyton for so long, but they couldnt have it because Peyton was scared][He later tells Haley, well yells at her that he told Peyton how he felt and she didnt feel the same. He goes on to say that Brooke makes him laugh and that Peyton has too many issues.] Thats a settle for Brooke if anything is. 2. Also in season one he clearly makes his choice. [He tells Peyton that Brooke is great. She just isn't Peyton. And how does he know? he feels it in his heart.] He cheats on BROOKE with PEYTON (not Peyton with Brooke). Despite bad decisions, Lucas is a great guy. He wouldnt have cheated unless his feelings for Peyton were real. 3. Now this is arguable, but in season two [Nathan tells Lucas that he has feelings for a certain girl and that he needs to tell her. Sigh. He goes to Brooke's and finds Felix there.] But couldnt it be that he knows Peyton doesn't want to hurt Brooke again. [Recall how Peyton broke it off with Lucas. She says she can't hurt Brooke anymore than they already have, even though Brooke and Lucas werent together.] I think Lucas was reminded of this and knew that Peyton wouldnt easily let him back into her life in that way... but maybe Brooke would. (He loves them both so its easy to settle.) Also, Jake could have something to do with this. [Recently he had visited Peyton and discovered that she missed Jake. He didn't want to come between that.] He doesnt even like Felix though, so it would be much easier to tell Brooke that he wants to be with her rather than her. Lucas was taking the easy road. He was settling. So in my opinion, Lucas goes after Brooke in season three because he can't have Peyton. Brooke never understands how much she hurts Peyton by dating Lucas [just like in season one] and so there you have it. 4. Plain and simple. [Lucas dates Brooke for all that time but it's Peyton he wants by his side when all his dreams come true.] 5. Ok enough! He marries Peyton for God's sake. You're right. She is his inspiration. Two books and three proposals worth of inpiration (original proposal, airport proposal, proposal by the River with the right ring).
