In my opinion, the legend of Aang finished when he defeated the Fire Lord. They're using comics to fill most (maybe all) of the plot holes. There is no reason for a continuation.
The Legend of Korra looks absolutely wonderful. The animation I've seen so far surpasses that of ATLA and United Republic looks beautiful.
The Gaang will always have a special place in my heart, but I'm looking forward to something new.

I'll greatfully accept that they're continuing Avatar at all, instead of ending it like they were going to. As much as I adore the first series, I agree with XTerrazX by saying that I think the show ended with Ozai being defeated- sinse that was the goal for 3 Books.

It would be nice to see some new characters, as well as the decendants of the previous characters.
