how is this even a question? of course not! it doesnt matter if ur racist or not, the casting WAS bad. that isnt an opinion, that is a FACT. Aang wasn't happy or cheery at all, in fact, he was the OPPOSITE

At least not in Shamylans vision, that has more to do with the director than the actor...funny how everyone starts with "Im not being racist"... lol

His acting wasn't good at all, really. The thing that pissed me off the most, he didn't seem to show any love for Katara. At all.

My plan, twenty years from now, I'll personally write a movie true to the series first season and look for actors with talent, not for any other reason, except maybe that they at least resemble the characters. Of course, I'll work along side the creators, and rewatch the show.

I don't care much about the race, but Noah was so personality and emotion-less in his acting.

Ok my dislike of the movie character has nothing to do with the casting but the writing and directing. I think it's ridiculous to say that the characters in the show are this race or that race seeing as how the entire world is fictional. I actually find it racist to say that Aang should be Asian- it shouldn't make a difference what race he is. And although Noah wasn't that great, I really don't blame him. He had practically nothing to work with because the script was a piece of crap. And because the movie in general was directed extremely poorly I tend to believe that under a different director with a better script, Noah would have been an acceptable Aang.

P.S. I refuse to pick an option because I don't think it should matter whether I'm a minority [broad term there- why not just come out and ask if people are Asian or Hispanic or whatever?] or white.

Seeing the movie, I think the whole thing was a wreck. I'm not going to shift the blame on Noah himself though. It's the director who sucked the life out of Aang's character. I think Noah does look like Aang in a certain sense, but his acting could be improved. He has talent, that I know, but it wasn't well expressed in the movie.. at all. I do think race matters (and just because the word 'race' is used, doesn't make the whole thing racist, so chill out). In Avatar, there are Nations. Nations have their own nationality. Like the Fire Nation people were based more on the Japanese, and the Water Tribe on Inuit's. They white washed the main characters who were suppose to be Inuit, and have dark skin. The Fire Nation went from Japanese, to Indian. I just wish M. Night respected how Bryke made the show a little more. Noah seems to fit Aang's appearence well though.

I'm not a racist by any means, it's just the show had their own cultures. And in the movie, most of them were mixed. You can't cast color blind on a movie based on a cartoon like Avatar.

This question is racist. Why does it matter what race I am. Anyway, the worst part is that even though Noah didn't do Aangs character justice, he was the best actor in the film. Sokka was veggies and straight talk, Katara wasn't all that pretty, Zuko had no scar or anger. I'm sure if a few of us got together and did a fan movie it would be better than M. Nights.

Actually behind the scenes his personality is very much like Aang's but however he did not get to show that in the movie

Why was it necessary to ask for the person's race in this question, though? Tbh, Noah seemed like a pretty decent Aang- he just got shitty instructions.
