The legend is too tragic! Their child dies, Guinevere goes off with Lancelot, Arthur sleeps with Morgause and Morgana, the kingdom falls apart, and then Arthur gets killed by his bastard son Mordred (his mother is either Morguase or Morgana), and Guinevere doesn't care.

i agree with u..i believe in happy ending and would love to see it ending with a wedding and kids running around..some like arthur who gonna become this awesome legend shouldnt end in tragic at all

I also agree....The legend is too sad and HORRIBLE! They should fall in love and STAY in love like in the TV show......that will be awesome to watch, when the second season actually comes out,how their relationship unfolds and blossoms! awwww...i can't wait

I don't like the end of the legend! I don't want it to be all airy fairy and everything is perfect on the tv show but i don't want it to end so badly! I like the way the producers have done the love triangle though, it keeps it interesting!

i dont know the full story but from what ive heard...
guinevere has an affair with lancelot.
arthur was in love with his sister morgana and they have a kid together mordird who ends up killing arthur!
in the legend they purely werent in love.
guinevere was no maid and she was the prettiest women in camelot and all the guys loved her and arthur did not love her for who she was inside like he does gwen in the tv series.
merlin the tv show is amazing and is just the way i believe it should be!

Tecnically I Like The History Of The Real PPL That They Were Based On It Was All Fiction But They Were Based On Real PPL And The Guy That Lancelots Based On Died So I Read Never Liked Him Anyhow!!!

Legend generally paints a bad picture of Gwen. I would hope they don't go down that route.

I LOVE the TV Shows version of Gwen and Arthur's relationship!! In the legand, Gwen is like, how many years younger then Arthur, and there is no spark; he only married her for her looks. He cheats on her, she cheats on him, and when he dies there is deffinatly no love lost. In the series, there is PLENTY of spark and romance, they are the same age, and there is the added intrigue and obstecles of positions and the love triangle between them and Lancelot. WAY better!!

Hate Arthur and Guinevere in the legend, both as a couple and as individuals. LOVE them on the show. Needless to say, I hope Gwen and Arthur don't share the same fate as their legendary counterparts.

Although I think the legend is very sad and tragic, it is quite interesting. I like the way it is not too perfect.

I don't think the producers with let it get to the point where we begin to see the break up between Arthur and Guinevere. After all, the way they have come together in the show seems like a different world to the legend.

TV show is funnier. Merlin makes me laugh so hard.

Every woman is either shady, evil, incest, fickle ore plain pathetic. I prefer the show. In there they at least they are telling the love story between Arthur and Gwen. But if we are talking about the old old old version, and i mean the welsh version where there are no Lancelot, Morgana, Merlin and half those idiotic dudes of the round table. Then it is 50/50, Because in the old old old version the love between Arthur and Gwenhfyfwar (original name of the queen of Camelot) is genuine. Even though Arthur dies, all their sons dies in the end they have their kinda happy ending-ish

I hate Gwen in the legend. I even wanna KILL her! She luvs him, he luvs her and then she causes Camelot's (or we can say Albion's) fall! Gwen betraying Arthur is one of the parts that made me shocked when i first heard the legend and then read it. She's a total slut in the legend. But in the show, i hope it wont be that way...

But in the very original legend guinevere was good and she loved arthur but then it is more popular the version where they have the affair with lancelot so.... but of course I love the show

I would have to go with the show as well. Although I love the legend the show is more romantic plus Gwen isn't going to run of with Lancalot which was never that good.!! :)

I love both. The TV Show version is beautiful and in a totally new perspective, I love to see them BEFORE. it's amazing. But I also love the legend, even in its tragic version, even when she have an affair with Lancelot, because at the end Arthur is condemned for love, and her true love was and forever will be him, no matter her mistakes. She couldn't live with that and at the end, when she died, Lancelot brings her body to be buried with Arthur. That's so beautiful I want to cry...I mean it.

I don't like legend romance because Gwen doesn't really love Arthur.

The true Welsh legend of the story, Arthur and Guinevere loved each other very much, ruled a great an prosperous kingdom, and had children,4 boys I believe. It was the french who added the betrayal to the legend to give it a more ohlala and Lancelot is a french knight, of course. So I hope the TV show continues with the Welsh version, although I dont know, if that is the case, why they felt they had to introduce Lancelot in the TV version. Maybe they thought to give the audience a little scandal and I suppose the french version is the one most people are familiar with.
