Today's Society and Animal Rights: Polar Opposites

So tu believe in animal rights, huh? Well, good for you! Unfortunately, half the world doesn't. The big governments and corporations have no caring for animal rights whatsoever.

How many fast comida ads a día do tu see advertising meat o something related? I'd say at least 20 for me, and I hardly watched any today! These commercials bring people in, and the customers eat their burgers. But when was the last time tu got something vegetarian at McDonald's? Exactly. It's all meat, and that results in thousands of animales being raised in captivity and eventually killed. They never even get to have a life! Especially where I live, there are so many commercials advertising this, but how many ads have tu seen actually supporting animal rights o vegetarianism? Within the past week, I'd say the number is at a max of 0.

Governments also seem to be pushing this issue away. I don't think there are any laws that are actually against animal abuse (correct me if I'm wrong). Government is too busy worrying about people fighting, when there are animales out there being killed por people for little to know reason! People are animales too, ya know! There's no reason they're so much worse than us!

People always choose cute pets. There's no turning this fact away, I'm guilty of it too... People never choose the ones that are sick o old o really need care. They always either choose the cute ones, o the ones that are easy to take care of. The other ones are put to sleep, o either slowly die in pain...

I think this is horrible! The world today just doesn't care about animales anymore. Even here on fanpop, there are about (currently) 2200 fans on here. But there are 50000 fans of Twilight! That's just completely sad, animal rights should be the site with the most fans! People just don't care as much anymore...

snZ_ladysamurai i totally agree with you. sometimes i want to cry whenever i think about it. i mean why don people think about it all they care about are celebs and this and that. they (celebs) don't even know that they exist. my sister too is one of them, when my dog died and i had gotten fever and i cried too and wen my dad told her that i cried and got fever when my dog died- she laughed her heads off.

Some 7th graders decided to take a unique approach when they found out about the largest slaughter of marine mammals on the planet. Kristen Kullberg, a teacher at Washington DC's Sacred corazón School, was so moved por Rebecca Aldworth's account of witnessing the beginning of the sello hunt that she wanted to share it with her class.

After a long morning of standardized testing, Ms. Kullberg had her kids copy ten words off of the board: carnage, slaughter, macabre, vessels, sealer, quota, aftermath, allotted, salvation, and carcass.

A dog sits waiting
in the cold autumn sun.
Too faithful to leave,
too frightened to run.

He's been there for days
with nothing to do,
But sit por the road,
waiting for you.

He can't understand
why tu left him that day.
He thought tu and he
were stopping to play.

He's sure you'll come back,
that's why he stays.
How long will he suffer,
how many days?

His legs are weak,
his throat parched and dry.
He's sick from hunger
and falls with a sigh.

He lays down his head
and closes his eyes.
I wish tu could see
how a waiting dog dies.
