Today my boyfriend & I participated in a Wheel-In for Trump! (It's basically a long parade of cars/trucks/bikes/etc that go on a planned route.) There were SO many people who participated and the amount of people outside their homes watching us go por was incredible. tu don't see this kind of stuff for Biden. Someday America will have female presidents. But we should thank God every día that Hillary Clinton won't be the first. We really dodged a bullet on Tuesday.

Donald Trump hasn't been a reliable conservative all his life. I voted for him (I only vote Republican), but I've often had mixed feelings about him. But as the man who beat Crooked Hillary in the biggest presidential election upset since "Dewey Defeats Truman," he at least deserves a clean slate . . . publicado hace más de un año

I supported Ted Cruz in the Republican primary. He would have made a great president, and hopefully will someday. I don't consider Donald Trump to be a real conservative, but he is the only viable option to stop Hillary Clinton. Today I cast my vote in the Connecticut Republican primary (by absentee ballot) for Ted Cruz, Texas U.S. senator, consistent conservative, and friend of the Constitution, whom I have liked for years. In the 2016 cycle, Cruz was and is the only choice for serious, authentic, movement conservatives. Of the two other remaining Republican candidates, John Kasich was always a non-starter for me because of his support for amnesty, his expansion of Medicaid, and his get-along moderate attitude, which values the idea of bipartisanship más than fighting for conservative goals. Donald Trump was fine as an entertainer—I watched early seasons of "The Apprentice" myself—but, among many other things, he lacks an ideological core (conservative o liberal), and is confused o unknowledgeable about many issues of the day. It is my hope that Cruz will win the Republican nomination (at this point, most likely at a contested national convention); if he fails to do so, I will most likely support whoever does get the Republican nomination, though I would consider defecting to a third-party candidate if he o she were viable and más conservative than nominee Trump. hace más de un año

I will never, ever vote for a Democrat for any office (not even dog catcher if we elected them); I would rather eat a penguin. The idea of a President Hillary Clinton (or a President Comrade Bernie Sanders, the candidate of whiny Millennials and leftist socialists) scares me to death, and should scare to death any rational, moral person. If I had to pick a republican to back right now, it'd be Romney. Mark my words, he'll be your candidate, and if he's not, god help the GOP as far as getting elected goes. tu don't only need a candidate with strong conservative views, tu need one that's electable, and, right now, many of them, for various reasons are not. Romney may be a bit floppy on some of his issues, but he hasn't alienated the moderates yet, like everyone else has. publicado hace más de un año

I voted for Romney in 2008. I still like him today, though I'm personally finding it hard to forget about his Massachusetts healthcare system. I'd consider myself still uncommitted for 2012; fortunately, I don't have to make up my mind until April. And I wish a little that Rick Santorum had a better shot. hace más de un año

I have nothing against Ron Paul, but many hardcore republicans do, on account of his Libertarian perspectives. Like I said, it's not just about conservative views, it's about "does he have a chance at being elected against Obama?" Unless tu can somehow charm both moderate republicans and unaffiliated voters, maybe even a few frustrated democrats, then chances aren't reassuring. hace más de un año

For the record, McCain was a great candidate because he had mass appeal. Sarah Palin, on the otherhand, appealed to one niche, namely very conservative republicans. I still think it was Palin that lost McCain that election, más than anything else. Palin alienated the moderate voters. Obama and Biden appealed to them. They also appealed to the majority of liberal and democratic voters. tu need both your side and the undecideds to win. Ron Paul could win over the moderates, but he doesn't have the support of his own party, and that's the tragedy. Most of the other republicans are the opposite. hace más de un año

Forgive me, but with all the far-left things Obama has done, how does he, then, appeal to moderates and independents in seeking another term? The need to appeal to moderate/independent voters is too often overblown por both parties when what is really needed is stark contrasts. Sure, some middle-of-the-road voters will be turned off por the strong liberalism of Obama and others will be turned off por an equally strong conservative, but they're going to have to make a decision on which vision is ultimately the best for America for the siguiente four years. With all due respect, the 2012 election is ultimately going to be a battle for the corazón and soul of the whole of America, not an appeal o capitulation to one category of voters o another. hace más de un año

@SFJ_Penguin - tu may be right, that may be how it turns out. However, I believe that the majority of Americans are moderate/centerists/non-affiliated voters. Generally speaking, a conservative voter will vote for a conservative candidate no matter what, if only to prevent a liberal candidate from winning. The same goes vice versa for the liberals. Even if the candidates are only moderately liberal o conservative, they're still más so than their opponant. That's why I think it's important to appeal to the undecideds, the moderates, because generally speaking, seriously liberal o conservative voters will always vote for their party - even if they don't particularly amor their candidate. Because their candidate is always better (in their mind's) than the alternative. hace más de un año

Obama appeals to moderates with his calls for compromise, reaching across the aisle, and including non democratic members in his cabinet - Treasury Sec. Timothy Geithner (I), Transportation Sec. rayo, ray LaHood (R), Army Sec. John McHugh (R), even John Huntsman, who was appointed por Obama to be Ambassador to China. Believe me, if tu encuesta moderates, Obama is más popular than leading republican candidate Newt Gingrich. In my mind, people who identify as staunch republicans will vote for the republican candidate as a vote against Obama, even if they don't amor their candidate.
