Maybe. I don't see it being extremely likely, but it could happen. I'm moderate on some issues...I'm not religious and I'm 100% pro gay marriage, which seem to be two of the biggest topics of the Republican party these days. I agree with them on generally everything else though.

I am a Democrat and I guarantee that I will be till the day I die. I dont care if I was the richest person in the world. I would rather give money to those who have none than be greedy. Im pro-human rights, pro-choice, pro-gay rights, and I am Roman Catholic, born and raised.

Really? might want to call your " TEA Party" reps in Washington about that. The Richest people in America bitching about their taxes...yeah that makes alot of sense and spells greed to me. I live in a Red state and my Republican Congressman wants to cut taxes for the wealthiest in our state. That too spells greed to me.

jlhfan624 is right, honey. There's a whole lot more to the republican party than the oversimplification seen in cartoons and caricatures of the Fat Cat Republican.

Similarly, there's a whole lot more to democrats than the stereotypes of hippies and socialists.

How about we stop throwing around the judgement words and labels and have some actual civilized conversation about policies for once.

As for the Tea Party - several of them are working class Americans. In fact, a lot of republicans are working class Americans. They believe in the value of the hard work of an individual, and if a person wants a better life, they should work for it. That sounds like the opposite of greed, to me.

BY the way - the LOGIC behind tax cuts for the rich is that it will leave employers money that they can put into their business by creating jobs. I have issue with this logic, as I think it assumes that employers would rather create jobs than pocket the extra change, but still - that's the philosophy. It's not just because they want all their money, or at least, that shouldn't be the first thing we assume and accuse them of.

I identify as democrat, but I absolutely loathe the ridiculous mudslinging that occurs between both parties. I have seen and heard some horrible things about liberals that are not true and at times bordered on abuse and hate speech. I have seen similar comments thrown at republicans.

Lastly - It's not fair to come onto someone else's spot on Fanpop just to insult their opinions. That means no Christians proselytizing on the Atheism spot, no republicans calling Obama a Muslim Socialist on the Democrat spot, and no democrats calling republicans greedy in their own spot.

That's just common courtesy.

Well Cinders to tell the truth I too hate the mudslinging, the only reason I lash out is because I am sick of Sarah,Michele,Donald,Rush,Glenn,Ann,Sean,Bill,Mitt,Tim P,Rick S, and most of the Tea Party calling Democrats " Demons of Hell who are destroying America because we have no sense of judgment and we dont care about others". What because we have an African American President, cause I believe a woman should have the right to make choices over her own body, or because I think gays should have at least some rights cause they are human beings too. Dont lecture me about being civil, I will be civil when I dont hear the words " Democrats go to hell!" " Socialist Liberal SCUMBAGS" " President Obama is a TERRORIST" Mudslinging has been going on for decades. If I stop it will still go on. I never said I hated Republicans, two of my favorite Presidents in history were Republican-Lincoln and Teddy Roosevelt. But the right of today is scary. And it will get even more scary before it gets better if the rich take over. The wider the gap between the middle class and rich the worse it will get. My dad is a union worker, and Republicans in Washington want to take away union rights too.

The fact that republicans use dirty tactics and personal insults is a reason in and of itself not to sink to that level. You must be the change you wish to see in the world, after all, must you not? Giving into anger only gives the extremists exactly what they want - to prove that you are just as nasty as they are, and to prevent any real change, or any real conversation, from happening.

If you stop hurling the personal insults and judgment words, its true that others will continue. But you'll be one less raging voice adding to the noise. We can't control what others do, but we can control what we do. And if you stop slinging the mud, you won't catch any innocent republicans and moderates in the crossfire, either. Because if you hit a moderate republican with a generalized insult against ignorant conservatives, they take it personally and hit you right back. And then you've just bred another angry conservative, whose retaliating to your unfair attack, and she will probably hit an innocent liberal who will retaliate...

And the cycle goes on and on.

I'd vote for a Democrat but The Clintons aren't on my list. Other Democrats from the past like JFK were great presidents. Obama on the other hand....Forget it. He's by far the worst. He'd rather go campaigning for a candidate instead of taking care of our country. :P
