Chapter Two

After awhile of sitting in the grass, I felt someone shaking me. I knew it was probably something important, but I decided to stay asleep.

"I guess I'll have to carry you..."

So he did. I heard everything he was saying, So I technically awake. After I was put down I finally opened my eyes.

"You have to get ready for today dear." My mother dicho softly.

My mother is a very frail. Her eyes are outlined from hard work.

"I think tu should wear this dress Meredith." says my 8 año old sister, Mary, who seems to pop out of nowhere.

I personally don't prefer the dress she picks out for me, but it will do. It isn't like I care the The Games anyways.

"Oh, Mary- yes sure that dress is good." I caught my self mid sentence. I didn't want to turn her away. It's just not right, since the chances of me getting picked, like I said, is alot higher than most of the other people of District 12.

The dress she picked out for me is a rosado, rosa dress. The parte superior, arriba of it is heart-shaped, with diamonds on it. Not the real kind of diamonds of course. The bottom half is what turns me off the most. It's frilly, and has diamonds all over it. (Like I said, not the real kind).

"Mary, don't tu think your sister should be able to choose what dress she wants?"

"Well, yes mother, but I spent alot of money for this dress...is it too fancy?"

"No Mary, it's fine." I say, smiling.

Perhaps this isn't the time for smiling ang giggling, but this could be the last time I've enjoyed my family. Why make it depressing?
