Rosa Salazar will grace the big screen as Brenda in the upcoming film "Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials" in September. Before you see her in action alongside Dylan O\'Brien, Kaya Scodelario, Thomas Brodie-Sangster and Ki Hong Lee, learn five fascinating facts about the actress.

Speaking of what drew her to the craft, Salazar told comedy writer Ross Carey in an

interview: "Oh man, I just could not shut up! I was just that kid in the family that you put on the table and watch it dance around and you\'re like, \'Oh, look at that hyper kid!\'"

Upon staying in New York after graduating from high school, Salazar decided she wanted to pursue a career in the entertainment industry.

Speaking about her style, the actress told InStyle in an interview: "I like very minimal stuff. I\'m a tomboy at heart - and in body! I wear American Apparel jeans every day of my life."

Writing for Nylon magazine, the actress shared, "When I saw it, I was just getting out of high school and so lost, a vagrant bumming around America for two years. It changed my life. I became enthralled with acting - and this existentialist believer."

Describing the film "Night Owls," in which she stars alongside Adam Pally, Rosa Salazar told Huffington Post in an interview: "This is my dream project. I remember telling my reps at the time that if this went into a dark closet and never came out, I\'d be disappointed but at least I had that experience. It changed me."
